Tonight’s episode is entitled “Hiro’s”. Hiro’s what, I have no idea. TV Guide’s synopsis is
Niki is questioned by police about her fugitive husband’s whereabouts; Matt’s relationship with his wife, Janice (Lisa Lackey), benefits from his mind-reading abilities; Claire divulges her secret to her father (Jack Coleman); Hiro has a violent run-in with Las Vegas high rollers; Peter receives a life-changing message; and Mohinder contemplates leaving New York—and his father’s research—behind.
Once the episode airs spoiler tags no longer necessary.
Questions to be answered:
Which sleeping hero will Evil Dad take?
Is Claire a murderer?
What does Hiro’s cryptic message of “Save the Cheerleader. Save the world.” mean?
Will Mohinder pack his bags and go home?
When does the next comic come out? Will Hiro and Ando need it to cross the country safely?
Can’t wait to see more of the future macho Neo/Hiro.
Have seen Niki referred to as Niki/ikiN. Thought it was excellent.
Argh. Does no one read my posts? Re: Claire’s murder issue (this is taken from the graphic novel at the series website - I’ll spoilerbox it for anyone who wants to read the actual novel):
Claire never intended to kill the QB: she meant to teach him a lesson so he’d at the very least think twice before raping another girl. When the car crashes, Claire gets out, but she goes back when she sees the engine has caught fire in order to SAVE the bastard, because he has to be alive in order for him to repent. Her motives were dark, I’ll admit, but never murderous.
I realize what the comic showed, but it hasn’t officially aired. I personally feel they couldn’t have her be a murderer and keep her as a sympathetic character.
I’m not too sure about that. He is/was a serial rapist. A violent serial rapist who caused the (temporary) death of one of his victims. I would still find her a sympathetic character. Besides one does not go into a wall at 60+ MPH to teach someone a lesson.
The show titled itself “Hiros” without the apostrophe. That various TV Guides include an apostrophe in the plural is just one more sign that America is sliding deeper into illiteracy.
Anyway, another excellent episode. This should be on three times a week instead of Deal or No Deal.
Damn, that scene of Nathan Petrelli taking flight was FUCKING AWESOME! Contrails and a sonic boom yet! Made me feel like a kid watching Superman again!
We didn’t see what HazelNutCoffee talked about in the spoiler box. Does that mean the graphic novel has extra scenes, or is the story in the graphic novel happening in a parallel universe, where the story is slightly different? Or will we see that scene in a future episode, as back story?
My favorite part was Petrelli acknowledging that skidding barefooted on gravel probably hurt a little bit. I also like that these people are communicating. They’re not holding back so folks won’t think they’re nuts.
Except for the cop, but since his wife isn’t central to the story and would think he’s nuts, so that’s okay. (I couldn’t help but envy her – a lover who can read your mind.)
So do you think Niki’s husband “hollowed her out” at some point, and that he put bad Niki in there with her as protection?
We don’t know what Niki’s husband’s power is yet, but he’s definitely not the mind wipe guy. Speaking of Mind Wipe, he erased QB’s mind of all memory it looks like, but PsycheCop was just erased for the night he was AWOL. What were Evil Dad’s instructions for the cop’s wipe? Didn’t he say to hollow him out completely? If so, it obviously didn’t work on him.
Why couldn’t Hiro drive the car? Did he just not know how to drive? Loved him talking about the Dark Side in the diner.
Micah’s father is definitely not mindwipe guy. Totally different person. I’m wondering, the guy he supposedly murdered, maybe Niki’s alter-ego was the actual killer and her husband is taking the rap?
The graphic novels fill in what happen between episodes. They’re not necessary to understand the storyline, but it’s nice to have some backstory. So yeah, they’re extra scenes.
Hiro doesn’t know how to drive, which is not surprising given he lives in Tokyo. The public transit makes driving unnecessary within the city.
Didn’t the cops say Niki’s husband ‘slipped out’ of his handcuffs? Could he be a bendy stretchy sort? (forgive me if I’m way off-- I missed an episode)
Totally called Milo’s character’s morphing power a ways back. Now if only someone would have the good sense to: Cut. His. Fucking. Hair. Not only does he look like he’s playing in a crappy band at the MTV Music Video Awards, he won’t stop brushing the huge chunk o’ bangs out of the way!
Claire’s rapist/‘killer’ deserved to die and am a little sad that he didn’t when others seem to be fair game.
Sooo happy the flying looks cool.
And Hiro’s happiness over waffles on thre menu was adorable, as always.
