Heroes 10/16 "Come Together"

Tonight we join our heroes at various locales across the country. Will tonight show any of them getting together? Only time will tell.

When last seen: Hiro and Ando in Vegas looking to make a road trip to NY,
Claire getting a detailed anatomy lesson on her own body, Matt making close encounters with some strange dudes in a bar, Niki being escorted via cop car to Head Honcho Goon, and Peter playing Clark Kent at the playground.

Can’t wait to see what is in store for our friends.

Will join you all at 10PM.

[nitpick]

They were leaving LA on their way to NYC via Las Vegas.

Sorry kurilla. So glad to have editors to keep me honest. You’re absolutely right, Vegas via LA. You think they’ll catch a show while they’re there? Play a few games of chance?
This would be the obvious time to come in contact with Niki and perhaps take her along to “see the Wizard”.

The chapter is called “Collision.”

Given that the drive from LA to LV is about five hours, assuming good traffic and no road construction, I’m curious how the timing will play out. I’m also curious how Head Bad Guy’s cop knew where she was on the road.

I guess I’ll find out in 2 1/2 hours.

Ooh, good episode. I’m enjoying this series. I like the way the story’s unfolding.

We’ve already seen that the creators are willing to play with the timeline so there’s no reason not to think that Hiro and Ando left with plenty of time.

Speaking of Ando, he’s not very bright, is he? “My friends has big powers!” Yeah, they’re doing a lot of good while he’s unconscious.

Did I hear alt-Niki right? Did she say “if you threaten our son again”? Lends credence to the theory that DL is living inside her, but it could also be that her alternate persona or whatever feels maternal. BTW, given that the naughty Niki went and jumped Captain Congress, I propose a new nickname: “Doppelskanker.”

And the show just ended, and I’m already jonesing for next week.

Was the picture on the back of the book the same Chandra Suresh?

My reception of NBC is bad at the best of times - I managed to follow it all except for the very end - was the man who talked to the nurse brother Hiro?

I caught that as well. People with Disassociative Identities refer to themselves in the plural.

I missed the first minute or so. Where did Claire Wake up, and indeed, was this a different location from where the Cop woke up?

Well, I guess I was wrong about Hiro being doomed, though if he can time travel well enough to jump back a few years and hand out warnings then there’s some serious issues with justifying why he can’t do that for any major bad thing that happens in the series.

He said he was Hiro Nagasaki or something. I don’t recall Hiro’s last name. He was from the future regardless.

Yes. It was…the Hironator.

Yay! Another great episode in a series that’s showing no signs of slipping. I’m so glad I got in early. I wonder, though, if it would work sans the hot British/Indian voiceover.

It was Hiro. And he looked hot. I was almost sure it was going to be Sylar that stopped the car. I thought he was coming for Peter’s brains.

It gave me shivers when future-Hiro said to Peter, “You look different without your scar.”

Niki did say “our son.” The theory that her husband is hiding in her reflection seems more and more likely to be true, although I suppose it still could be a simple case of Dr-Jekyll-Mr-Hyde.

Claire woke up in an autopsy room that had nothing to do with her creepy father. Apparently the quarterback freaked out and dumped her body, where it was then discovered by someone else. The coroner called her Jane Doe.

Hiro Nakamura. Apparently in the future Hiro has found the right “look”, sword and all.

Otto:

I like the cut of your jib. But it’s hard to resist a variation: Doppelbanger.

This show is growing on me. Slow to develop, but that could be a good thing; looks like it may be getting ready to shift into third. The preview was interesting: who hasn’t dreamed of getting out of trouble by leaping into the sky?

Damn it, I should be writing this show. (Like a lot of folks here, I had the same basic idea a couple of decades ago.)

I don’t believe so.

They could very easily dispense with that by having a line of dialog that by jumping back however far he did, Hiro burned out his powers. But it is potentially problematic.

The quarterback, or someone else. And the coroner said that Clare was found naked. Which, significant? Dunno, but ew.

Did anyone else do any glyph-spotting? The only one I noticed was on Doppelskanker’s back while she was jumping Captain Congress.

Oh, and it was nice to hear Mohinder say “This default position of science is skepticism.” Yes! Actually, it’d be nice if he explicates the scientific method sometime.

I am humbled.

And, obviously, the one that creepy-no-mind-reader-guy kissed before starting in on the cop. Religious symbol?
