Heroes 12/03/07 - "Powerless" (SPOILERS)

Well, after Noah left the company’s lockup, he took an hour to swing by LensCrafters. There wasn’t any rush. Everything in Heroes happens at just the right time.

Wouldn’t it have been prudent for Nathan and Matt to go to theother side of the metal door while Peter irradiated the virus to nothing.

Niki has the virus and bits of her have apparently flown all over the neighborhood. Or was that a different strain?

No, LensCrafters heals eyeglasses, usually in under an hour. Why, when there wasn’t a second of footage on-screen that suggested it, would you possibly think that the glasses were repaired by Claire’s blood? Are you really that disgusted with the show that you have to make things up to hate?

Yeah, as soon as Niki grows a pair and lays down a regular strength asswhuping, she go boom. Moral of the story: Kids, don’t let your parents be heroic.

So Micah doesn’t have to touch electronics to command them anymore? That’s new.

Annoyingly free (although fabulous) work dinner with supplier caused me to miss the first 15-minutes. I can figure out what happened, but could somebody recap up 'till Noah was messing with Elle’s head in his cell, just before Bob walked in? Pretty please?

He’ll finally make his way out, change his name to A. Kelly, and write a 60 hour long music video entitled "Trapt in the coffin’ "?

Around the half-way point, I was deliriously happy. Sylar was my hero.

Then Mohinder had to go and ruin it. Curses!

I had a bad feeling about Nathan early on, but maybe there’s still hope. He was still alive and gasping when we last saw him and the news report just said “shot”, not “shot and killed”.

I called Niki though, but that was still harsh for the kid.

Too bad about Maya.

You know what? This shows how dumb I am. I was thinking "He’ll try brute force for awhile, then figure out how to tap into Sylar’s original ability to figure out how things work.

My consolation is that I’m apparently not quite as dumb as the writers, as they went with the brute force method.

When I turned it on:
Mohinder is in his kitchen and asks Sylar where Molly is. He says she is asleep. Sylar introduces Maya. Mohinder asks her if she knows that Sylar is a killer. She says she knows and that she is a killer too. She lets slip that Sylar lost his powers. Mohinder pulls a knife but Sylar pulls a gun. Maya realizes that Sylar was lying to her and starts with the black tears. Sylar gets her to stop to save Molly.

Sylar called Mohinder so he knew that he was there before he went home. Was there any explination about Mohinder showing up without Matt or backup from the company?

I was just about to post that Maya is a lot more tolerable when she isn’t around her brother when, seconds before I hit submit, she gets shot.

Dang I like Sylar though.

.and while you’re at it, let me know what happened in the vault after Hiro and Adam took off. My commercial break was extended with some local news break about something, and when it came back, Peter had turned something in his hand to dust. Did he catch it heroically in mid-air, or what?

That’s not dumb. I know it’s not dumb because I thought the same thing, that he’d Sylar the combination.

Or he could’ve used his super-hearing to listen to the tumblers.

He caught with telekenesis, then destroyed it with radiation.

Thank you, Sir Prize. So no backstory of Nathan + Matt’s arrival? Good; I like when the writers assume we can figure that stuff out.

Rucksinator, Nathan convinced Peter just in time for him to run all the way down the hall, around the vault door, to TK-stop the falling vial. Then he walked over and grabbed hold of it while it dangled on the thread that was obviously there because it looked nothing like a good effects shot.

Maybe “invisible thread to hold stuff up” is another power he’d cribbed from Sylar.

Hey now, buddy. I think that’s the sort of rebuff we can save for the important arguments. About Niki’s tattoo.

Well, that’s how TK works - the manipulation of subatomic particles called stringons.

Y’all need to learn to fanwank better. Peter did not just walk through the vault for two reasons, 1) He wasn’t sure how thick the door was or what was behind it. 2) For some reason he was only trying to get the door open so Adam could get the virus because Adam was supposed to be the one to destroy it.

What was Adam reaching for when Hiro popped in? I’d like to know the story behind some of the other stuff in the vault.

I was really hoping Maya would turn into a Supervillain before the end, with perma-black eyes. That would have been amazing. Way scarier than junkie Sylar. Ah well.

Well, you may have spotted the locker where they saved Hitler’s brain.
