For which I’m grateful, really. It took me a bit of googling to figure out who the Hell “Sark” was. 'Cause apparently I’m not one of the cool kids. Or robots.
Frankly, that whole “robot?” thing with West just made him come across like a pretentious jackass. If they were trying for “edgy and cool,” they fell far short on that. Particularly since he turned out to be a stalker.
I don’t know how predictable Kensai being a dorky British con-man is. If it’s so predictable…why didn’t anyone predict it in our threads last season? The four theories were that he was just some hero un-related to Hiro (least popular,) he was an ancestor of Hiro, he was Hiro’s dad, or he was Hiro. I don’t recall dorky gaijin being one of the theories. Of course, it’s still possible that he turns out to be Hiro. I suspect Hiro will try to get Kensai to “do the right thing,” fail, and take on the mantle of Kensai himself and do what has to be done. Hell, he can even marry and have a kid with the swordsmith’s daughter. And that can be one of his ancestors, allowing Hiro to fulfill some kind of “I’m my own grandpa” paradox.
Hell, if nothing else, he’ll be immune from flying brains from space.
Parkman being in the NYPD after 4 gunshot wounds and a suspension from the LAPD? Well, the gunshot wounds weren’t from an actual gun, they were “thrown” by Sylar, so there’s a good chance they didn’t have nearly the velocity actual bullets would. And he may have been suspended, but IIRC, it was from punching a dude who was banging his wife, not because he was bad at his job. Add in a very nice letter of recommendation from FBI chick, and it’s not inconceivable. One thing I was surprised about was how casually he was shooting people in the mock hostage situation. The first few people I can sort of understand. I didn’t see a weapon on them, but the camera panned on them quickly, and they were advancing on him in a threatening manner. But when it was down to the hostage and the woman, he had NO legal standing to shoot her. Her weapon was not drawn. Shouldn’t he have ordered both of them onto the floor, and have the other cops handcuff and search them? When they found the gun on her, it would be pretty clear she was the hostage taker.
Re: Mohinder and the cure.
In addition to Mohinder giving the lectures mostly to get an “in” with the company (though wouldn’t they have already known that Noah had a lot of prior contact with him?), he still (in theory) needs a cure, assuming the disease is real. He took a big chance last season assuming he had the antibodies in his blood, going on the theory his mother’s immune system made them after his sister was born. All he did was give Molly his own blood. (And can we get the official spelling of her name? I know it’s not a big deal, but consistency, people! We can’t have Molly and Mollie both being used! Anarchy!) He still might not know the exact antibody/chemical/whatever in his blood that works, so he would need lots of money and test subjects and whatnot to narrow down exactly what it is he has that cures the disease.
…but I hope that you were all watching closely when Claire got a brand-new Nissan Rogue!! If you missed seeing what the Rogue looked like in the episode, you got several excellent shots of it during the three separate commercial breaks, each featuring three Nissan Rogue spots back-to-back!
I’m going to stick with Peter as the killer, given that only one body was shown down below.
It’s the same company. I don’t remember the exact words, but Mohinder refers to already having worked for them when The Alchemist (good supervillain name, really) offers him a job.
“Sark” isn’t a nickname; it’s the actor’s character from another series, “Alias”. And you’re right, if you didn’t watch Alias you’re not one of the cool kids. Go watch it. Right now. I’ll wait.
The nicknaming thing was pretty much pronounced tired & lame by the end of last season. Making up nicknames from other shows and expecting people to get it is just plain dumb.
Decent ep though. I’m also looking forward to whatever Haitian is up to.
That reminds me of my final annoying thing. After the last ad the voice over announcer said something like, “And now the conclusion of “Heroes”, with no further commercial interruption.” This was at 9:50 PM. Thanks a lot, Oh Generous One. Seven whole minutes without a commercial! How can I ever thank you?
Not mentioned in the show, but in the online comic (at nbc.com), **Wireless **went into space to stop Linderman’s plan. The plan that had Micah controlling the voting computers. She was successful.(Further results in spoiler.)at the cost of her own life
OMG?? DADDY?? YOU GOT ME THE ROGUE?!???!! To be frank, I wasn’t familiar with the model until after that scene when the commercials ran, so I heard something unintelligible when she squealed the name.
Hmmm. I thought I saw two, and was waiting for the killer to shake it off and somehow locomote away.
I didn’t like little Molly yelling at Parkman and Parkman backing down, when Parkman was trying to get her to talk about her dreams. He acted like he was afraid of her, and he has no reason to be.
Also didn’t like Parkman shooting all the people in that training exercise, and since when are training exercises set up like a movie shoot? That was pretty unbelievable.
I assume the same, that it’s meant to represent the DNA of the heroes, since we often see it in Papa Suresh’s research documents and on the cover of his book. Though it’s suddenly being used like Voldemort’s Dark Mark… hm.
Hiro’s father recognized his killer. “I didn’t expect it would be you.” Why on Earth would Hiro’s father recognize Peter? The last time he would have likely seen Peter was when Peter was a little kid and the SuperFriends conspiracy was still meeting (unless I’ve forgotten some other scene that he shared with Peter?)
And I quite appreciated the Nissan promotion – since it got rid of a few commercial breaks earlier in the program. If that’s what it takes, more product-placement, please!
Er, yah. Keep waiting. Alas, that the threat of not being one of the “cool kids” has never held much water with me.
I’m such a rebel, me.
Huh, hadn’t caught that part. By the way, the (variously loathed) online comic apparently expands a bit on what the SuperTwins powers are (or, at least Janya/Maya’s).
More precisely, a few sourpusses, who couldn’t keep it straight from one week to the next that “Cheerbleeder” just might be referring to the cheerleader character or that “Telepa-cop” just could possibly mean the cop with telepathy, grouchily denounced the whole process in an apparent attempt to spoil the fun for those who could.
First, it wasn’t a nickname, it was a reference to a previous part played by the same actor. Second, it’s not unreasonable to think that there isn’t a substantial fanbase crossover between a show like “Alias” and a show like “Heroes” especially since Greg Grunberg stars in both shows.
I think it was more the people who didn’t realize that “Ambiguously Evil Dad”, “AED”, “Horn Rimmed Glasses”, “Claire’s Father” and “Mr. Bennett” all referred to the same guy.
Or that Niki, “ikiN”, “SuperStripper”, “DoppleStripper” and “Stripperganger” all referred to the same woman.
The nickname competition sucked. Having an established nickname before we know a character’s name was OK by most.
Add me to the “Nathan Petrelli’s offing the old supers bunch.”
Nathan bumped into Ando just before Ando delivered the newspaper to Papa Sulu, slipping in the Mark Of Death, before giving a lingering look at Ando and turning away.
Nathan came into his apartment from the hall, where he’d be able to stick a Mark Of Death to his mother on the wall.
We’ve seen that Nathan now loathes his mother.
And that he has a deep current of love for his seemingly deceased brother, whom he feels he had to kill, or at least let die, to do the right thing.
And that he’s pissed off and disenchanted about following along in the plan that would have nuked New York…
…which was orchestrated by the Old Supers now getting offed.
The build of The Hoodie appeared that of a younger, athletic man.
The Hoodie could either teleport or fly away from the scene after tackling Papa Sulu off the edge, but before hitting the ground.
In short, Nathan is PTSD about his role in almost destroying New York and causing his brother’s death, and is pissed off enough to blame the Old Supers and want revenge.
My understanding of that was that she went into space to destroy the Tracking system while Bennet went to destroy the human tracker (Molly) - and that Nathan officially won the election - acceptance speach and all (had Mrs. Patrelli stay in wheelchair for it).
So, Nathan won and, as far as we know, is still a congressman. (and doing a right good job at it!)
