Herschel Walker (need I say more?)

Is it possible to have an election that has Herschel Walker in it and NOT use words like “runoff …” or “effluent?”

Hm. That’s a head-scratcher.

It’s official (basically): runoff in four weeks. With the entire Senate probably on the line, again.

(Though there’s still a decent chance Cortez Masto has won in Nevada…and if she does, the Georgia runoff won’t matter as much…though it would still MATTER.)

An equally “clearly awful candidate” did more than just get close in 2016. I can’t say I’m surprised. If you won’t come out and vote, you get what you deserve. Sadly, the rest of us get what you deserve as well.

And people who vote for someone just because of name recognition, or because they’re the “right” gender, race, religion, etc. or because your pastor or employer says you should vote for them - some of them are probably best kept at home on election day.

Herschel gives us further thoughts on Good Air and Bad Air:

…“What we need to do is keep having those gas-guzzling cars, 'cause we got the good emissions under those cars. We’re doing the best thing that we can.”…

The more Herschel Walker intrudes into my awareness, the more I suspect that bigots find it easier to vote for him because he so perfectly exemplifies their stereotype of black men (i.e. a fumble-tongued dimwit who can’t keep it in his pants).

I’m hoping that the racists who were going to vote for him only to win the Senate will re-access the situation. Do they truly want a brain-damaged moron to be the face of Georgia? Do they want to constantly hear about his embarrassing exploits for six years? That’s really not owning the libs.

They voted for MTG. At least some of them did.

The Donald is such a good friend to Herschel Walker that when he sent out a fundraising e-mail, he set the default split to take a mere 90% for his “Save America” PAC:

(Hey, at least it wasn’t 99%…)

What are the odds that the Walker campaign sees any part of their 10%?

Umm, 10%?

What does it mean that that is “official”?

“Officially even more likely to fool the rubes into donating.”

If they’re stupid enough to have that kind of attitude, possibly.

Don’t forget about Madison Cawthorn.

The fact is that for the last 8 years what passes for conservative policy has been shitting their own pants so they can laugh at liberals who have to smell it. They don’t really want Herschel Walker in the Senate, but they’ll do it to hurt people.

The right wing radio in Seattle said this morning (after making fun of Walker a little bit, but still hoping he wins) “If you want to contribute to Walker’s campaign, do it directly. Any other place will siphon off most of the money.” They didn’t mention Trump, but it seemed obvious to me. A little more evidence that the right is shifting away from Trump. Slowly.

The racism, misogyny, grifting and treasonous insurrection weren’t a problem, but losing the Senate for the second time was a bridge too far. Why am I not surprised that the right has suddenly developed a gag reflex?

Apparently, the people of Pennsylvania do.

There is an objective difference between any of Fetterman’s shortcomings and Walker’s. If you have a problem with Fetterman, you have to admit Walker is 10.56 times worse. He takes Trump’s level of incompetence and doubles down to a new low. Indeed, it’s hard to imagine a more unqualified Senator (and that’s saying something)

It gives new meaning to “10% for the big guy!”

And I don’t know why the rubes keep buying into the “increase your impact” scam……well, I’m pretty sure it’s because they’re dumb and gullible, but what does that really even mean?

They used to promise that they’d personally match your donation by 500%, then 700%, then 1000%…….once they figured out they could just say it and not do it, the sky was the limit.

But they probably got in trouble for making such a specific promise, now they just promise that if you give $100, it’s like you gave $1300 bucks……without giving any clue as to how in the fuck that works.
