My baby arrived! William Anthony was born at 6:11 p.m. on Thursday 7/31…6 lbs 14 oz, 20 1/2 ".
I ended up having to get a c-section because the cord was wrapped around his neck and shoulder, causing his heart rate to drop during delivery. All’s well that ends well, though…he’s perfect!!!
I probably won’t be around here so much in the near future…I’m exhausted!
Welcome to this wonderful world William. And best wishes (and lots of sleep) for you C3. You take it easy, and I’m sure you might be able to pop in here occasionally to give us some updates.
Welcome to mommyhood, C3, and welcome William. Shoulder wrap, huh? Well at least you won’t have to wonder if it was a necessary c-section or not!
Rest, heal, and if you’re attempting breastfeeding, call an LC if you have any problems. They’re there to help, and there’s NO REASON TO SUFFER, at all - just get help (take it from me, queen idiot on the suffering thing)…
Mine had the cord wrapped around his neck 5 times, plus it had a true knot. C-sections can be a great thing. He was also 6 lbs 14 oz, but he was only 19.5" long.
Oh, and I second hedra on the Lactation Consultant thing. Those people saved me.
