"He's not my President"

…and 15.

:eek::eek::eek:

If the requirement of trolling is to provoke readers, then the Pit is Troll Central. Every thread in the Pit is meant to provoke readers, it is provocative by its very nature.

But most have at least some other purpose. This is just “Hey look at me” idiocy.

dba is the metaphorical guy behind homeplate who’s on his cellphone and waving at the camera.

No offense, but you have much higher opinion of message boards than I do. They are all saying “Hey, look at me.”

This board has some actual decent conversation that derives out of the “Hey, look at me.” shit. Which is what separates it from DailyKos, FreeRepublic or IHeartFurbys message boards.

You’re fifteen? Holy shit!

I’m impressed.

Richard Nixon wasn’t anybody’s president…except for Richard Nixon’s.
Speaking of, let’s quote John Wayne upon learning that JFK beat Nixon:

“I didn’t vote for him, but he’s my president, and I hope he does a good job.”
[sub]After learning that John F Kennedy, rather than Wayne’s preference Richard Nixon, had been elected president.[/sub]

I would think that’s a good sentiment for ANY presidential election. (Seriously, why would you want a president to screw up? A president screws up, wouldn’t that screw things up for you?)
As for opposing gay marriage? Well duh! It’s icky! Doesn’t everybody know that?

That is what I usually do if I voted for the loser of an election and the winner turns out to be a total prat.

People in my town still will vote straight ticket and dont seem to understand that just because you are a rep or dem, you dont have to vote that way.

I like to research and make a rational decision. I picked Obama for a few reasons, and will admit that one of them was his age. We need to get some younger people into power and shake things up a bit.

I also noticed he seemed to be more into the people and not into business concerns. His speeches seemed to be more oriented to the common folks, not the rich and business owners/executives.

I am totally stealing this for my next album name. Thank you.

Some brilliant guy wrote this on his blog:

Well speaking for myself, I asked you some questions on the first page to try to understand why you oppose gay marriage. It’s going to be pretty hard to engage you unless you give us some insight into why you voted that way.

This.

Also, at least you’re free to have gay sex without being pressured for a legal commitment. Go you.

He mentioned it briefly:

Apparently, states have so many problems with recognition/divorce/child custody issues with traditional marriages they could never figure out those same issues for same sex marriages .

So if I understand this properly, the key is to allow widespread injustice to continue rather than take the time and effort to sort out, once and for all, a non-gender based solution to recognition/divorce/child-custody issues?

Why do so many conservatives enjoy being victims?

“Look at me! I said something naughty now I will get beaten up for it! Oh boo-hoo-hoo! Liberals are so mean!”

Sorry, man; Clay Aiken’s got dibs…

There are some of us, who are well into middle age and approaching “the golden years” yeah uh huh golden my ass. We are tired of being nice, quiet, patient, etc etc etc. We’ve done all the things that should qualify us as “good citizens”. We don’t tell you who you will be allowed to live with or who you will be allowed to marry. We mind our own business. You should learn to do the same. If Bill and ted choose to have an “excellent adventure” it should be none of your damn business. It has no impact on you, doesn’t threaten your marriage in any way, doesn’t steal any food off your table. MYOFB.

Back when Republicans were actually conservative, this argument would have had an effect.

Well, there was a time (long ago) when I myself was Republican.

I, too, was once in a registered member of the GOP. Then the Dark Ones became ascendent.

I’ll give you one, but be warned this IS NOT MY VIEW.

I’ll repeat, THIS IS NOT MY VIEW. But there you go; a basis not based on religion or bigotry.
