OK, even if that’s remotely true, what if it’s not bigotry but a fair, reasoned belief? You don’t think it’s possible that someone, for their own reasons other than religious zeal or outright bigotry, can believe in something other than what you believe in?

Can you name one such reason to oppose gay marriage? I’ve spent a lot of time arguing over gay rights, and I haven’t heard one yet. At this point, I’m comfortable in saying that no such argument exists. But hey, you might be the guy who finally surprises me. Give it your best shot.

I object to this classification. There is little reason to believe that troglodytes were stupid. Being hunter-gatherers, they would have had to be fairly quick on the uptake to survive, and they innovated the very basics (fire and the wheel) of our civilization. Moreover, as they predated religion, it seems unlikely that they had the homophobic attitudes **dba Fred **has evinced. In short, it seems slanderous to equate Fred with troglodytes, as he is clearly a moron.

If I wished your vote on a matter, I would engage you in Great Debates. This is the Pit, which I reserve for four sorts of posts:

However, you haven’t demonstrated any particular reason not to support gay marriage, and the default position here is that being opposed to SSM makes you a bigot. Of course, that’s not the default position in many places, but then you’re talking to us.
