I just wanted to post that I have never found EC creepy, nor any of his comments inappropriate. What I do find inappropriate is the prude brigade constantly complaining about a tiny minority of his posts. Let it go people.

Her **Question for the Mods ** showed that this thread wasn’t enough. She was trying to campaign of EC’s censure. Her replies to Q.E.D. looked petty to me.
Thankfully TubaDiva and **C K Dexter Haven ** politely shot her down.

If you feel you must, knock yourself out. I can already tell you that my response will be to point out that my original post in this thread, and in several of the ones that came afterwards, indicated I would like to hear the mods input on the matter of whether they though that his off-topic posts were a reportable offense or not (in light of other restrictions that have been placed on him, I believe that was a valid question). I had also stated that if none had replied in this thread within a day or so that I would ask elsewhere. I like to follow through on what I say I will do, therefore I posted in ATMB.
If Q.E.D. had a problem with me, he would have taken it up with me. He is quite capable of holding his own on the boards, and if he thought my replies to him were out of hand he would have said so.
The ATMB thread was closed before I could respond, so I will go ahead and thank Tuba and Dex for responding there.
And lastly, I would like to repeat that I have at no time called for any restrictions on Evil Captor’s postings. If you have evidence that I have, post it and I will eat my words.
Sensitive new age guy. I keep thinking about this, and I wonder if there’s some vague, unconscious enlightened-liberal homophobia underscoring EC’s reactions to lissener. Is it bondage you think squicks him, or the sexualization of women? (Answer: it’s the objectification he perceives that bothers him, as we should all grasp by now).
And don’t go all batshit on me, EC, I don’t know you, and it’s not like that never ever happens. Maybe you were just cracking wise on the available information, though that’s kind of the same thing I was defending you against, incidental to my quest for a More Funnier Dope.
As for AveDemented, I was done with her when she didn’t have the nerve to take my tiny, bitsy, only-a-year-here-costs-less wager but still opened an ATMB thread. “I’m finished with it; I was finished with it the minute I saw it.”

BTW, my name loosely translates “Hail Insanity” (it’s from the song by the Marionettes) so there’s no need to try to make it worse. But again, if you want to flame me to hell and back, go right ahead.
I didn’t say I bet. I said I’d “bet you twenty bucks” no warning would come of that thread, and furthermore that the mods would say “report whatever you want, we treat each one individually”.
It was a typo, actually. Not that I wouldn’t have messed with it; I just try not to insult people except intentionally.
Anyway, no, it’s not the bet. Even if you’d seen it you wouldn’t have taken it. I don’t believe you really thought all the twenty fucking people who answered your question for you before a mod showed up over there was incorrect. Christ, I hope not. As for the ATMB thread, I logged off and went to bed after replying to Q.E.D. and when I logged in today the thread was closed as went to I read it. Are you asking what I thought of the other people who tried to answer my question?
I won’t pit you, my little snark here is sufficient. It just looks like you really have it in for EC, if you don’t all the better.
So now if you see a post you don’t like you’ll report it.
In the reports I make, I always try to word it politely and leave my possible ignorance an open question.
Sometimes the Mods respond by Email with a clarification, sometimes they post in the thread in such a way that indicates they have responded to my *Report to the Mods * or a similar one and sometimes I never hear back. The last is a minor annoyance.

I’m aware that my posts came across badly to you and others here, but I don’t see how it could have been helped. I try to be direct and precise in my posts (as opposed to being unclear and having to explain myself further) and that can come across as harsh and uptight. For this reason, I try not to judge any snarkiness of tone in others’ posts. Add to this, both the fact that sexuality is a volitile and attention-getting topic and that it’s difficult to repeat yourself without sounding bitchy, and I really don’t blame anyone for wanting to flame me.
I have reported posts a time or two, and have tried to be direct and to the point. Responses from Dexter have always been friendly and informative. His generous and helpful attitude in the ATMB thread was just par for the course, as far as I’m concerned. And since in my dealings with her, Tuba has always been precise and to the point (something I appreciate), I think I can avoid taking it to heart if she seems harsh in her replies. It’s just different styles, but they both get the job done, and I appreciate it.
As for the others in that thread… well… I wasn’t asking them, was I?

Cool, I prefer when we can all accept each others foible and pet peeves. We still might not agree. but I think we have successfully agreed to disagree politely.
As I said from the start, I don’t like some of the Post EC made in the past either, but as long as it didn’t derail the thread I usually just ignored them. I had found his other posts were usually informed or insightful or at least funny.
I would rather have a post be out of place than to see a shouting match between 2 or 4 posters in a thread that had a good discussion or 3 going on. I find a snarky little aside can occasionally put the thread back on track. Direct assaults and confrontations usually increase the derailment.
