What are you doing Wednesday night?
I finally got my computer up and running, thanks to my half-assed hardware skills, and I am now officially back on the Dope. Woo! I missed the lovely picnic last weekend, but it was too much of a stretch since the Boyfriend had shows all weekend.
Well, now the Boyfriend is competing in the “Funniest Person in Baltimore” competition on Wednesday night at the Improv. Basically, it’s a night full of comedians, and I promise you that there will be some funny ones there. Tickets are $10, and you can get them at the Improv. The website for the Baltimore Improv is
here. (The show is judged by local celebrities, so it’s not like I’m asking you to come pack the place for my boyfriend.)
Things are going well here. I’ve adjusted quite nicely to driving on 695, and I actually found a part time job less than half a mile from my house. I’ve also started a “hun” counter, too. The other day I worked for 5 hours, and was called “hun” by 7 customers. It was a slow day. Otherwise, I’m sure it would have been a higher number.
So far, I’ve been to the Inner Harbor, been taught the difference between “Dundalk” and “Dundock”, went traipsing through Patapsco State park, spent numerous hours at comedy shows, and finally realized why Glen Burnie is the World Capitol of Tackiness. (I’d always been to the Boyfriend’s mom’s house at night. We drove there in daylight the other day.) I also took the new headshot of the Boyfriend, which was set up at the top of the parking garage in the middle of lovely downtown Glen Burnie, right behind Le Fontain Bleu. We also made our first trip to West Virginia for a comedy show. That was an interesting experience! I’ve also become a karaoke addict. Well, I watch a lot. I don’t sing. Every Thursday night, we go to Jillian’s at Arundel Mills, because my roomie/landlord is a bouncer there. So if you ever get the desire to come and see my boyfriend and his friends sing, come on. (Actually, most of his friends are singers in barber shop quartets and various bands, so it’s at least on key.)
So yes, I am slowly becoming accustomed to being a Baltimoron. Yay!
