Mr. Wrekker loves to fish. No matter the weather or whether or not we are sick of eating fish (I know, I know don’t look a gift fish in the mouth)
I’m not sure I understand how it happened but, Monday morning he goes to the Lake house with his newly rebuilt boat and Evinrude on his newish boat trailer in his 5 yo. Big ass Ford dually truck.
He’s done it a million times. He certainly knows the protocol.
But Monday he forgot an important step in the process.
Yeah, you guessed it.
His big ass Ford dually, his newish trailer, his rebuilt Evinrude and bass boat hit the drink at the the boat ramp. Tackle and poles, trolling motor, fish finder. Cel phone all in the Lake.
Tuesday Son-of-a-wrek and him and other people, I guess go to watch the wrecking yard people pull the truck out, sans trailer and boat. The boat floated to the middle of the lake.
The truck went to the wrecking yard. Next day, Weds. He and Son go out in the backup boat to find the bass boat.
Seems the plugs were open. Oops, he forgot another handy technology. Boat went down like the Titanic.
They think the boat trailer was stolen. It’s nowhere to be found.
I have to say, Son-of-a-wrek has enjoyed this whole scenario, alot.
I look over and he’s snickering under his breath.
He loves seeing the King of these woods having faults and making mistakes.
And…Big Wrek has two of his friends coming to fish this weekend. Man that party just got dull.
THAT, makes me snicker.

Yes they’ve gotten the boat and truck out.
Big Wrek is meeting up with the insurance adjuster today.
He’s moaning about his notebook that he keeps a ‘fish’ diary’ in.
I’ve been married to this man for ions and I never knew he kept a ‘fish diary’
What the hell is a ‘fish diary’?
I thought Son-of-a-wrek was gonna bust a gut laughing about that one.
He’s having way too much fun!
This afternoon we ascertain his old truck he keeps around for firewood and such had expired tags.
He’s gonna need it for a week or 2 til he buys himself a new truck.
Instead of taking my Orange menace he drives the truck to town to renew.
As if this CF wasnt crazy enough he got stopped on the State hwy. by the Trooper who patrols there.
Yep.
You guessed it.
He got a speeding tickets and a ticket for expired tags.
He came home and had a chip on his shoulder. I promptly knocked it off. Innocently, I believe.
I just asked “What took so long?”
Then the peeps started showing up. Big Wreks out-of-state fishing buddies. Son-of-a-wreks rowdy friends. And a few more.
I think everyone has been vaccinated. No one was wearing masks.
You just wait. This tragedy ain’t played out yet.
Fate is never kind to me.
Wavy boats? Boats vs Haulover Inlet is also very entertaining just take a Dramamine before watching people and their boats take a pounding by the waves.
