Hey meryl streep, you are a play-actor, nothing more

It would be great if Trump knew how behave like a “grown up” and not like some teenager sending out tweets all day !

At what point, for you, does this mess stop being funny?

It is rather disingenuous of you to phrase it this way, when your only hope of persuasion is to get someone to watch your silly video until their brains fall out, rendering them witless enough to buy your absurd assertion.

In two years when he loses his healthcare and his job?

Na… He’ll just blame Obama.

I watched the award speech, too, and basically agreed with everything Streep had to say. Then, inexplicably, I remembered a fairly common catchphrase used on these boards and I imagined a twisted outcome of the speech:

Meryl graciously accepts the applause after her speech is completed, says thank you, and leaves the podium

Enter Fallon who steps up to the podium, looks askance at Meryl and says, “Ooooohhh, you’re SO edgy!”

Don’t forget the morons who believed that an anti-labor candidate will bring jobs back. Or who pretends he can create jobs.

No, actually, stupid fuckwits like you who consider things like “sticking it to the liberals” and revenge for “liberal elitist smuggness(sic)” more important than things like “has a fucking clue what he’s talking about on domestic policy” or “has a fucking clue what he’s talking about on foreign policy” or “has a temperament better than a 5th-grader” are why this jackass go elected. Because you were so eager to stick it to everyone else that you forgot that part of running a country is the ability to run a fucking country. In the words of someone both smarter and wiser and more capable and willing to make good decisions than you: “That’s too much, man!”

Damn all those liberals for forcing white supremacists like Duke to endorse a candidate for President for the first time in decades! Damn all those liberals for fighting for LGBT rights! Damn all those liberals for forcing people who didn’t like immigrants and Muslims to come out and vote against them! Damn all those liberals for forcing Republican voters to support a bullshitting birther conspiracy theorist in the Republican primary!

Damn you liberals. Everything bad that ever happens is your fault, especially when conservatives do it. It will be liberals fault if Trump makes the country weaker and less prosperous. It will be liberals fault if Trump starts a war. Anything Trump does is liberals fault.

Huh? How did Trump tweet “I didn’t mock a disabled reporter” while making that caught-in-a-lie gesture? He must be remarkably flexible (but then again, we already knew that from his ability to simultaneously put his foot in his mouth and his head up his ass).

When you become rich and powerful enough to put on your own celebrity awards show, you can implement these rules. But the Golden Globes ain’t your show, so these rules only exist in your mind.

I’m sure if “everyone did it”, then “it” would lose its significance and people would stop watching the awards show. Perhaps then the producers would start reigning “it” in, and the show would go back to being yet another boring wankfest. Until that happens, though, I’m betting no one is going to be reigning anything in. Awards shows–like anything other TV show–live for viewership. As long as viewers love when the celebrities get on their soapboxes, celebrities will keep getting on their soapboxes. No matter what your rules say.

If you can’t see a tremendous civic hazard in handing a nuclear arsenal to someone with nanometer-thin skin, I don’t think we can help you.

Yep you called it.

… Glub, Glub, Glub.

Note to billfish: Schadenfreude only really works if you’re not also among those getting shafted. #cutoffyournosetospiteyourface

You don’t care how it works out for you? It sounds like your modus operandi is to cut off your nose to spite your own face? I mean, you admit Trump is a jackass, yet you voted for him just to spite the extreme (admittedly obnoxious) Left?

The jackass got elected because of the jackasses who voted for him. Blaming liberal extremists for your self-inflicted problems isn’t going to work anymore. You’ve had eight fucking years of blaming Obama and liberals for everything when the problem has been obstructionist Republicans refusing to work with him. Now it’s your golden (plated) boy’s turn to shine, all by himself, and with nobody else to blame.

Trump got elected because the so called American conservative movement came to its logical conclusion this election cycle: a bunch of stammering clowns unfit to govern all trying to identify which avenue of hate and fear mongering would get them elected. A self-serving moron like Trump was able to rise to the top of the very best of the best that American conservatives had to offer. That should really tell you something about your core beliefs.

While most of you have hardons thinking about an all Republican administration you’re failing to realize that also means that going forward the responsibility for every failure of government is going to land squarely in your laps with no liberal scapegoat to blame it on anymore. You might as well start practicing now because the “it’s all Obama’s/liberal’s/etc. fault” card you have so heavily relied on for the past decade is no longer playable and it makes you look even more ridiculous than you already do.

It wasn’t that long ago that Republicans used to try and claim that “party of personal responsibility” bullshit. Now they’re not even responsible for having a guy they voted for win an election.

This would be plausible if Trump had won on the basis of increased Republican voter turnout, or by winning over a larger share of independents and registered Democrats than prior GOP nominees. Neither of which happened. Turnout in this election was at a 20-year low and Trump won a lower percentage of the vote than Romney. Trump won because Democrats in a handful of swing states stayed home. Trump won because a generic Democrat would have outperformed HRC.

Actually, this new habit on the right of smugly dismissing any and all principled opposition to Trump as the whining of a bunch of snowflakes and cry-babies stands a good chance of being what gets “this jackass” un-elected at the next available opportunity.

Example of something that, if everyone did it, would kinda ruin things: letting slide without rebuke pre-adolescent behavior from someone seeking or receiving a position of high responsibility.

I’m confused. Where did Meryl Streep ever mention anyone by name? If somebody thinks she was criticizing them, doesn’t that mean that they believe that this unnamed person actually was mocking a disabled person?

There’s a rather sizeable ‘domestic abuser’ mentality going on there: “Baby, why you make me gotta hit you?!”

Some people love putting on the shoe and loudy declaring it to be a perfect fit.
