EXACTLY!!! Just as Obama’s people would cry racism over ANY criticism because there WAS actual racism from some idiots.
If Trump retracts the numerous lies and mistakes he’s made (including years of spreading an evidence-free racist conspiracy theory about Barack Obama) and apologizes for them, then perhaps he’ll have the credibility to point to the mistakes of others.
But he hasn’t, so he doesn’t.
yes!!! exactly!!! that is why we get all this so called “fake news”
We never know if something is true, false, half true, half false etc
See: Idiocracy and 1984
That is why the guy should have looked more carefully or asked somebody before the tweet.
Are we in agreement?
Like it’s possible that if my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle.
No, not at all exactly. As I said earlier, honest mistakes are not the same as fake news.
Trump has a history of intentionally insulting disabled people who criticize him. Why’s it so hard to believe that he mocked one?

I see your point, and agree, but not about it being Racist. I voted for Obama, but he turned out to be worse than Cheneybush, with his INDEFINITE DETENTION ACT and his bombings and his going after more whistle blowers in government than Cheneybush ever did.
Obama is not who we thought he was.
But because Trump has said some stupid shit in the past does not make him WRONG about everything. We need to sort out the truth from false accusations or it makes him stronger when he really does some unlawful act. (like actually using the INDEFINITE DETENTION ACT that Obama just handed him

Journalists have a duty to make as sure as possible that what they report is accurate, especially in this crazy day and age. This guy did not.
Trump has a history of intentionally insulting disabled people who criticize him. Why’s it so hard to believe that he mocked one?
Who are the others he mocked? And after watching that video, again I have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He may have done it deliberately, but since he has done the same motion about others in the past, I have to assume it was about the guy getting caught in a lie.
BUT I COULD BE WRONG
I am more concerned with some of his cabinet nominees and an anti abortion Supreme Court nominee.
Cutting out your points about Obama to keep from derailing this thread…
But because Trump has said some stupid shit in the past does not make him WRONG about everything. We need to sort out the truth from false accusations or it makes him stronger when he really does some unlawful act.
Sounds good to me. And it sounds like you’ve come around to accepting that, while you aren’t sure exactly what Trump’s intentions were, it’s reasonable to criticize him for possibly mocking a disability.
At the same time, he should be heavily criticized for spreading such bullshit for so many years, as well as his numerous (and far more than most politicians) lies during his campaign and since the election.
June 2015, Donald Trump regarding wheelchair-bound Charles Krauthammer: a “loser” … all he does is just “sit there” and do nothing but be a “jerk.” He’s like a child who mocks and insults critics who are different from him.
koufax, Trump has moved on to bigger and dumber things since mocking the disabled reporter. You’re never gonna keep up at this rate.
yes, you ARE missing something. It is an exaggeration of somebody caught in a lie, ACTING VERY NERVOUSLY. An exaggeration to make a point.
Maybe reporters will start doing that to Spicer.
But because Trump has said some stupid shit in the past does not make him WRONG about everything. We need to sort out the truth from false accusations or it makes him stronger when he really does some unlawful act. (like actually using the INDEFINITE DETENTION ACT that Obama just handed him
Trump won’t automatically be wrong about everything. Afterall, even a broken clock is right twice a day. But if we list his pros and cons (!), it behooves us not to give him much benefit of the doubt when it comes to petulant and mean-spirited behaviour. It would only lead to the encouragement and normalization of this type of conduct in politics. Which serves only to lower the bar and lead to further polarization in the general population. No good can come of that.
Am I missing something or is Trump not mocking disabled people every time he makes that gesture? It’s ok to mock disabled people as long as you do it a lot? It’s ok to mock disabled people in front of hundreds or thousands of people as long as you can’t remember that the person you’re directly speaking to is disabled?
If one does it enough perhaps it’s no longer acting but just the way one is.
OP here…I hate to quote myself, but I wish to pit myself for some things I wrote. By the way, somebody VERY close to me dropped dead on January 8 and that is why I haven’t responded earlier.
When I say “play-actors” I think it is because I heard that on an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies when Jethro wanted to be a movie star and that’s what Granny and Jed called acting. (LOOK AT THIS ASSHOLE, HE WATCHED THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES AND WANTS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY) I always thought that was funny (that and the CE-ment pond, but that is just me.
I will watch movies and actually think " damn, if that was me and it was a long scene and there were extras and lighting and a crazy director and producers worrying about money, I would freeze and fuck up every take."
So I actually DO respect actor’s talent and their craft, although I still contend that there are MANY good actors, many more than good writers, producers and directors. I watch Airline disaster recreations online and the actors on those are so real that you think you are watching the ACTUAL event.
And as I already stated, I believe Meryl Streep is ONE of the best and always enjoyed her films. (but Gary Oldman transcends acting in my egotis…errr humble opinion)
And for those who called me an asshole etc etc etc , I have only voted for 3 Republicans in my LONG (66 years OLD) I voted for Obama ONCE, then wrote in Ron Paul. I have also written in Ralph Nader and I most likely would have voted for Bernie Sanders if he hadn’t gotten fucked by the DNC and was the Democrat nominee.
I have Lesbian friends who are getting married (suckers ) in July and they actually wanted me to marry them, telling me to go online and get my license.
I am pro choice, I don’t believe in god (at least the human religious god) and believe it or not, I DO have a number of black friends (OH HERE HE GOES WITH THE OLD “SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE BLACK”) but yes, one of the closest people in my life is a young black friend who actually helped me get thru the death of my brother recently.
And I admit I went overboard (DEAD WRONG) with the "let the adults etc etc I was wrong to write that.
I absolutely agree that Streep and anybody else has the right to state political opinions and I WELCOME them. I DESPISE Cheneybush and loved it when anybody would rip into those war criminals. I also DESPISE Obama for signing into law the Indefinite Detention Act which Trump now has the power to enforce.
And YES, I absolutely believe that Trump (who IS a thin skinned egomaniacal twitter addict) MAY have mocked the partially disabled reporter for getting caught in a lie, NOT FOR HIS DISABILITY).
At first I was disgusted by him doing that, but I saw that video online after somebody pointed it out to me, and it APPEARS to ME (I could be wrong) that he has done it more than once PREVIOUSLY about others GETTING CAUGHT IN FALSEHOODS.
I admit, he is CAPABLE of doing that, but I BELIEVE, (from the evidence of that video) that in THIS case, he was mocking a nervous person being called out for a falsehood.
By the way, I swear he must have watched Beavis and Butthead and is copying the Principal, who the boys would drive crazy. (OH SHIT, HE WATCHES BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD TOO, WHAT AN ASSHAT FUCKTARD)
So I didn’t like Meryl Streep (who never says a word about Juanita Broderick and who applauded child rapist Roman Polanski) getting up there and talks about him mocking the report FOR HIS DISABILITY without knowing the full story.
Again, she has every right to do so, but I think that she was wrong, because it seems as if he has used the same gesture before.
And for the record, I DO NOT watch those award shows, including the Oscars anymore. I used to watch the Oscars RELIGIOUSLY, but now see them for the bullshit that they are, just a way to promote the business, not awarding “ARTISTS” (or Gary Oldman would have at least 10 of them).
From now on, I promise not to go off half cocked when I PIT somebody and I will try to make myself clearer.
And like I said in the OP, Trump may turn out to be a complete disaster, but at least he has stirred things up in BOTH parties and woken everybody up!
Sorry to bring this monster thread back to life, but I wanted to clarify again, that this was about her accusing him of ACTUALLY mocking the guy for his disability, not as somebody acting nervously when getting caught in a lie.
OK, let the shit storm attacking me begin. But if you really want to get me good, just ignore me, I admit I hate that (SEE, HE ADMITS HE IS AN ATTENTION WHORE AND IS SIMPLY TROLLING FOR ATTENTION)
I am almost afraid to hit "submit reply, oh well, here goes nothing
Did anyone besides me read this with a Jim Gaffigan tone?
koufax, Trump has moved on to bigger and dumber things since mocking the disabled reporter. You’re never gonna keep up at this rate.
hahaha…I think that you are correct!
Maybe reporters will start doing that to Spicer.
Catch him in a lie, and go after him…that is their job. but they need to have facts straight, not tweet something out and have to retract it later.

that’s not exactly true about the clock (digital clocks) but I understand your point. And if you think this is nasty, what about newspapers having cartoons of Lincoln in a tree like an ape, because he was homely?
Politics is a nasty business in a democracy. Google Lee Atwater who apologized to Michael Dukakis as Atwater lay on his death bed.
Did anyone besides me read this with a Jim Gaffigan tone?
hahaha…hot pocketttt…I’ll take that as a compliment…I guess…thanks!
