Speaking, if I may, for the literary minded among us I feel strongly that my poetry would benefit from the addition of more smilies.
I saw this poem quoted in a Cafe Society thread recently. It looks suspiciously like something I wrote myself only last week, a matter deserving of further investigation by me in the fullness of time. Anyway, my greatly esteemed oeuvre reaches its poetic climax as follows:
.
.
.
"My name is Ozymandias :o , king of kings :
Look on my works , ye Mighty
, and despair!
"
Nothing beside remains.
.
.
.
I feel this could be improved upon by the addition of the following emoticons:
(a) a regal looking bloke with a label saying Ozymandias round his neck
(b) same dude but with a crown on his head
(c) another one depicting hordes of invaders looking at the works of Ozymandias through binoculars
(4) two really desperate looking guys
(5) a smilie personifying desolation and the loss of a great empire embracing elements of arrogance and transience of power, the permanence of real art and emotional truth, and the crucial but contradictory relationship between artist and subject
Just my opinion.
