I like smilies. I’d like to have more here. No animated ones, though.
What TBG said. Another smilie or two (unique to the SDMB) but definitely NOT animated.
I don’t particularly care too much about them. I rarely use them myself and it doesn’t bother me when other people use them. I did vote to add more though, because when you do use them there aren’t that many to choose from. I agree with AHunter3 that some unique to the SDMB would be good, too.
Please don’t add animated ones though. Those are annoying.
A smilie thread I see. Been six months already?
We used to have our own, unique smilies. IIRC, they were done away with because they were a hassle during vBulletin upgrades.
Has the official position on this changed? Does vBulletin offer a wider variety of built-in smilies?
We have polls now. It’s important to see what people actually want, rather than what vocal people actually want, imo.
So far there seem to be very few people opposed to extra smilies.
It’s not my decision to make of course, but I think having a poll can indicate board consensus. But of course it should be open for at least a week to achieve that 
I voted for fewer smilies because I’d really like to see :rolleyes: go the way of [noparse]:putz:[/noparse] (which I never thought was that bad, just misunderstood). I wouldn’t care too much if other, less-antagonizing smilies were added.
I’d like a barfing smiley and a sciencefail smiley (which is good for just general fails).
General fails are represented fairly well by :smack:
The only smiley I’d add would be a deadpan, nonsmiley, designated thus: :what?:

Deadpan, barfie and the original animated rolleyes was great. I wish we could get that one back again.
I could use smashie, animated or not. There are some posters for whom it is appropriate, and you know who you are.
Prefer the status quo and concur with no animations …
but if the options were to be extended then :notworthy: merits consideration.
I like animated smilies. And I like having a big gallery of smilies to choose from.
I voted no, but I thought it was about using smilies in posts. I want to see a bigger variety of smilies to choose from, but I think the current general level of usage is fine.
Someone would need to make the case for additional smileys, showing me which ones and why we need them.
Definitely not animated ones.
I can agree that sometimes :rolleyes: is abused.
