Hey there

HI ppl… from some forums I go to I have learned that most ppl just hate “Hi I am new” posts, but I am ill at the moment, can hardly breath or talk and so I think you have to pitty me and therefor not flame me for my very first post.

Okay, I guess I might as well tell a bit about me:

I am 18 from Austria and will hopefully be moving to England in July. If anybody wants to help me, please find addresses of sixth-form colleges in England… I cant pay, but I ll send a box full of chocolate to anybody who provides a -real- address… ::slight_smile:
What else?
Uhm… I am a stonar (please dont kill me for it - I am a nice person who has never been drunk in her life)and I am very bad in school. I like drawing, painting, doing webpages and flash animations… I am just working on a “warped greetings” page at gehoshitties…
I sleep with this good looking guy every night… his name is “Mister Bear”. He is at about as tall as my head and therefor a nice cushion.

Okay… enough ramblings.

If you dont welcome me I ll just make up an alias and welcome myself…

loons

PS: Can I be thrown out of this forum for writing bullshit?
Hope not… yeaaaah

Worse than the “Hi, I am new posts,” we hate those silly abbreviations, such as “ppl.” And smilies. I fucking hate smilies.

Anyway, welcome to the SDMB. If you wanna write bullshit, this is the place, although there are limits; use some judgement and you’ll be fine. (Please don’t make up an alias, that’s against our rules here, as you should have read in your user agreement that you saw when you signed up. That’ll get you booted, post haste.)

By the way, did you misplace, or have technical difficulties with, the first name you registered, “born.dodgy?” I’d like to kill that one, if that’s the case. You may reply here, or at rseaney@teamsigma.com. Thanks.

Kill it please - I d like to do it on my own but the email is wrong (yes I know… I had to type it in twice and I still spelled it wrong… I am terrible :frowning: )

I wouldnt make an alias for real… actually… it would be too much work (but of course the real reason is that it is forbidden… and of course I read the agreement thoroughly… )
It was already much work to get BornDodgy after I had fucked born.dodgy up… had to change to my hated IE browser. I guess I am a Netscape girl…

Oh and… if you didnt notice yet: I overuse smilies.
But there is hope: I dont use any abreviations but the people one…

(rambling because I have a fever)

BornDodgy: Hi, nice ta meetcha.

If a poster named purplebear wanders in here, and if she then decides to kill you, please know that it was all a misunderstanding and she will certainly apologize to your survivors.

UncleBeer:

Woohoo, more Euro-trash! Welcome aboard, BornDodgy. Enjoy the ride, it’s a good one, albeit rough at times.

I’m Dutch myself, and there are a few other Europeans as well. Brits, Irish, Danish, Swedish. Most posters are American or Canadian though. But let’s not hold that against them
Then there’s the odd Aussie, and some Kiwis too.

UncleBeer is right about one thing: things like “ppl” are generally frowned upon here. Smilies… well, they’re a personal preference. You can get away with them if you’re really smooth :stuck_out_tongue:

hey, BD!

weclome to the board. Its pretty relaxed around these parts. Be sure to read through the forums to get a feel for what goes where.
and in regards to Mr. Bear… I thought he was in UAE
Let me explain the Mr. Bear gag for you.

We have a lovely, lovely lady who posts her by the name Purplebear.

Her husband works on an Oil Rig (I think) in the United Arab Emerates (I think).

He posts here by the name Mr. Bear. (can you see where this is leading? ;))

Just be sure you haven’t got a friend calle Pipefitter, or things could really get confusing!!!

sorry, long story!

Coldy: Smooth? feh. anyone who listens to Rush can’t be smooth…

oooh ooh!! I have a question!! Can anyone explain why the hell I pressed ‘Enter’ after every line? best explination gets to hit me across the face with a rubber chicken.

You contracted the Annie X-Mas Virus.

WHACK

Coldfire

So what’s so odd about Aussies ?

Welcome BD! Hope you get to feeling better soon.

G’day
thats fair enough, ya got me.

but they are all pretty much “for export consumption only”

The fact that you exported them is the root cause of the problem

What part of Australia you from?

I had a great debate in a hostel over the weekend with a lady from the Gold Coast over who was more free from British control, the Irish or the Aussies. She got a little offensive towards me, and I quickly ended it with a great rant about Citizen or Subject.

She then stormed into her bedroom in a childish huff.

I then proceeded to do my drunken 3am victory dance, which consisted of playing a Yidaki (or Didgeridoo, for you Philistines ;)) which I purchased earlier that day, in between verses of “tie me kangaroo down, sport”.

do you think I went a little over the top?

TwistofFate

I am at a place called Palm Cove (hence name), 1/3 of the way between Cairns and Port Douglas

Good question for debate you had with your Aussie of Gold Coast. Who is more free of British control?. To me the answer is to look at who controls the major companies in each country and there will lie you answer, I don’t know enough about every little (very little) country to compere.
No you didn’t go “over the top”

It was un-aussie of her to give a shit.

If you are female be careful with that didgeredoo

Cheerd mate.

“Ya call that a knife, mate?”

Nothing odd about the Aussies. I especially enjoyed miss Minogues performance during the Olympics Closing Ceremony. Hot diggity damn, that woman has a GREAT uhm tail, if you catch my drift.

“Waltzing Mathilda…”

Hey PC!

XY chromosones(sp?) here! It was un-aussie of her. Not at all like the other 8 Aussie women that were staying in the hostel aswell. [pinky to mouth]

Coldfire

As you have said, “Great Tail”, specially when you consider how long she has been wagging it.

and Waltzing Matilda

O.K. mow thats odd. A national song about the death in custody of a sheep thief.

I just realised that this thread is only going to add to the Austria/Australia confusion that these Yankees seem to have

no alpenhorn in Australia

extra hijack: the Simpsons episode where they go to australia, they are out side a bank that has “Federal Banke de Austria” carved into it, but someone spraypainted the “al” in.

quite funny.
