Although you aren’t homophobic, a thread like that draws jerks like urbanredneck like moths to a candle.
Anything over 3 seconds.
You’re welcome. And, BTW, it’s longer than you think. Try it, and you’ll probably make both parties feel uncomfortable before the time is up.
If I believed it was going to work I’d be happy to pay for the photographer!
Boobs as WMD, now that would be interesting.
Can I tell the one about the Little Mermaid going to the bra shop and asking for something in a C-shell?
Five second rule. If you stare for five seconds or more, your eyes contract boobie cooties.
Hmm, I know a lot of feminist men. I think most of them enjoy looking at attractive women, boobs and all. What makes them feminist is that they interact with those women as if the women were, you know, human beings with interesting ideas and valuable skills and opinions that matter. They take their female co-workers seriously as co-workers, support their female friends ambitions, you know, that sort of thing. Oh, and yes, I do feel that I’m safe around them, even if there aren’t other men there to keep them in check. I trust they won’t grab or grope without encouragement to do so, or some compelling safety reason or something.
Back to the object of the OP, for a minute.
I can’t quit decide whether **Urbanredneck **merely wallows in oblivious ignorance, or if there is actual determined intent behind it. He rarely returns to respond to requests for clarification, which makes me think it’s more the latter.
You’re just trolling now. I think you’re just pissed because I call you an asshole whenever appropriate.
If you had actually bothered looking at the thread in question, you would have seen countless comments that feminist men do indeed enjoy looking at women. However, we can manage to not slobber while doing do, unlike the person you and only you have jumped in to defend.
As per the thread in question, which was quoted here, we’re going with a really low bar for the definition of “feminist.” It appears you also don’t support those basic goals.
Thanks for showing your true colors again.
I feel like screaming this every time it’s implied a man’s manliness is inversely proportional to his ability to hold it together when confronted by cleavage.
When I think of the masculine ideal (strong, competent, emotionally controlled, mature), I don’t think of a guy who turns into Scooby Doo when he sees a woman with obvious mammary glands. That guy is a child without any home training. Not a true boss in a position of power and prestige.
Nobody’s saying guys can’t look at breasts. Just be discreet about it, and don’t act like, “OMG, BOOBIES!!!” You know, like Urbanredneck.
Now THAT is an attractive man. Hubba hubba.
I wish he didn’t live in my town. He brings the collective IQ down. And horrifyingly, claims to have been a teacher.
Yeah, I wish I could yawn and scroll past with an eyeroll. But most of the time it’s an alarming reminder that men like that still exist in this world, and not just in old Tex Avery cartoons. And that these are the type of people who voted for Trump. Fortunately, they these types seem to be aging. During my more cynical times, I daydream about the day that most of them just die out.
Thinking of “book larnin’”, I had a memorable encounter with Urbanredneck in a thread a couple of years ago where I mentioned that I worked in academia. He immediately asked me how many students “[do] something of a sexual nature to pay for college” and started reminiscing about nude models he’d supposedly known in school. This was probably the most inappropriate question I’ve ever been asked about my work and it was also only tenuously related to the thread (a Skald hypothetical about a woman who learns a wealthy friend was secretly paying for her college education), but I said “How should I know?” and figured that would be the end of it.
But he would not let it go, and kept going on in a rather…fervid…manner about how he was sure it was common for college students to prostitute themselves or appear in pornography. I finally told him quite bluntly that this was creepy and that I was not interested in providing him with wank material, to which he replied:
I forgot to mention that this all happened right after I had offered Urbanredneck my advice as a university librarian in a thread he started about helping his son with academic writing. So one day I’m telling him that professors really do care about properly formatted citations and that if his son plans to go to college then learning MLA is important, and literally the next day he starts badgering me about how many of my students are sex trade workers.
This experience convinced me that Urbanredneck isn’t just an idiot, he’s an idiot and a jerk. I hope that there is someone in his son’s life who is serving as a good role model for appropriate behavior, because he’s obviously not going to learn it from dear ol’ dad.
You’re assuming that we would be turned on. It ain’t necessarily so.
Good god, Lamia, that was freaking disgusting. You could almost hear his zipper going down. Ugh.
Oh, yeah, there was that thread. He got a mod note for that post.
He really doesn’t see women as anything but sex toys for his pleasure.
I grew up in a very conservative highly religious environment and met many men like that, my father included. I’m not surprised that other conservatives have jumped in to defend him. Oh, just one so far, I guess.
Being a perv isn’t a left/right thing. People have to be partisan 100% of the time?
Ask Shodan. He went out of the way to attack feminist men and how many feminist men are on the right?
The OP pegged him in the first sentence. Urban Redneck is just a lowlife kook … if he’s real. I still think he’s a troll scamming everyone.
How many feminist men are on the right? Who knows? Has a poll been conducted?
And what type of feminist are we talking about?
For example, I believe there are biological differences between men and women. However, I think they should be treated equally with regards to the law. Is that pro or anti feminist?
