I recently left another board (clarkhoward.com) because of the poor administration. I still listen to him on the radio, but the message boards are ridiculous.
Post in the right forum, don’t be a jerk, and learn the coding (which I’m still doing.)

Yes, honest, an hour. It’s a lot different, I think, when you’re used to a bulletin board. All you need to do is check out what the people are like and the rules and mechanics of the board.

I’m afraid I don’t think I know what a “sock” is. Is that an old poster who comes in with a new name? We had a LOT of those on Sunspot. The racists and morons would create five alias and then agree with each other! It was pathetic!

That’s interesting that all of the time I’ve been on BB’s, I’ve never heard that term. You guys are just advanced.
I have never changed my username and in fact, even started this board with basically the same name. (My name on Sunspot was stellar753 because “stellar7” was already taken).
Please forgive the self-promotion, just this once. Consider it a “resume”. Hey! There were a lot of other quotes I could have bored you guys with. I just picked the opening thread. Give me SOME credit.
I think that this board is moderated really, really well. There are occational problem posters, but they’re usually taken care of quickly and fairly.
Only thing is, there’s so many smart people here. People who spell well, even. Makes you stretch yourself.

Gravity - What an absolutely wonderful endorsement of this Board!
I am just thrilled to have found it. Everyone who says Boards are addictive knows what they’re talking about! I was already starting to miss everyone on my old board (and it had only been a DAY). But I can’t go back; it’s better to break away now, before it gets any worse over there.
I know I will continue to miss the good people, and there were a lot of them over there. You get to know the people on a Board. It’s like its own community. You know if they’re married, if they have kids, what their dreams are, their daily struggles and joys. And, you get to share yours.
I don’t think people who have never been on a Board understand this. It’s a way to broaden your world, without leaving your chair.
