Hi, Jack! (ckalli1998)

When you continue to push the same lies over and over, the debunking will continue.

Confirmation bias. And a warped sense of what constitutes trolling.

Trolling is actually a best case scenario. When I consider someone to be trolling, I think they don’t actually believe the lies they are peddling, they just get some demented sense of satisfaction from acting like a jerk.

Worst case scenario, is that the person believes the paranoia, conspiracy theories and lies they’re regurgitating while either refusing (due to bias) or being incapable of evaluating facts and information in any meaningful way. Thus they are either bigots or idiots, but often both.

It’s a shame that you’re being held here against your will. I know, as I’ve been a prisoner here for fourteen years. Oh wait, there’s a door!

I already owned up to the plagiariasm thing, and since then I’ve been citing my sources with links for every major claim I ever make on this board unlike some others, who continue to make broad, outrageous assertions with no citations to back them up–probably because they aren’t true–like one user on that other Trump thread who accused Trump of being an atheist and his wife of being a Communist, two false, and outrageous assertions.

You’re absolutely right. I’ve not seen evidence of Trump being an atheist, nor his wife being a communist. Those assertions need backing up or retracting.

Really? Where? I cannot see it in the thread linked above. All I see is a lot of waffling, declaring you don’t plaigarize on your college papers. No real ‘owning up’ that I can see.

But do please point out where you own up to it, I am willing to be corrected.

Kinda curious about what Calico Jack’s er I mean ckalli1998’s gut tell us about Hannity’s ineffable wisdom.

I’ll have you know Hannity’s “wisdom” is totally effable…

You admitted it because it was so fucking obvious, coward. If you really want to own up to it, apologize and show some contrition – it’s a gutless and dishonest thing to do.

Why is “being an atheist” an “outrageous” assertion? Is this another group that you’re okay with bigotry against?

Surprisingly, that’s my interpretation of a troll too. It’s not something I generally see from the (few) Republicans who post here (and who are routinely called trolls and worse).

Unsurprisingly, I disagree with this comment. Further, I think it describes how many on the left here think and believe. Paranoia? Check. Conspiracy theories? Yep. Lies they’re regurgitating? You got it.

My comment here and elsewhere around here is why this can’t be discussed reasonably, or at least without the non-stop vitriol and derision a counter-opinion gets around here. For example, the poster that this thread is about. Despite the plagiarism accusations I think his arguments have been sound. But it’s met with, like I said, vitriol, derision, mocking, etc etc…

This isn’t a discussion board, it’s a club. A clique. To think otherwise is delusion.

I’m no purist, but I am a baconist and the recipes I’ve found online don’t have anywhere near enough bacon. A 1:1 ratio seems reasonable.

But it’s guarded by a goat

Most of the bacon’s weight will render into fat (which you can drain or save per your preference), and much of the rest will somehow disappear during the cooking process.

Only to magically reappear on the waist.

It’s an outrageous assertion not because there’s anything wrong with being an atheist, but because it’s a vulgar attack suggesting that a man who is a Christian Presbyterian is not who he says to be and is lying about his religion. Doesn’t get more outrageous than that.

How about evidence-free lies about someone’s birthplace and citizenship? Is that just as outrageous, or do you have more excuses for these sorts of lies?

so trump joked around a bit

Ok so this HAS to be a joke, right?

I labour under no illusions. This is a left of center board with a majority of posters being democrats or liberals with a fairly high proportion of atheists to boot.

I participate here because my views largely line up with those of the majority of other members, which isn’t to say I always agree with everything that is said.

That said, most established conservative members on this board offer interesting points of view and I have learned a lot from then as well.

I’ll be honest, I’ve not paid a lot of attention to your posts here. Unintentional on my part, I assure you. Perhaps we can agree or reasonably disagree on various issues in the future.

However, dismissing this community as a “club” or “clique” because the majority find Trump abhorrent, for reasons I trust I don’t have to list here, is not a failing on our part. Perhaps those who support him and his policies have simply failed to offer good justification for their position.
