It sounds like my situation is similar to the OPer’s.
I am 17, my boyfriend just turned 20. We started dating when I was a soph and he a senior in high school. That was 16 months ago, and a lot of interesting things have happened. Four months into the relationship he left for college 375 miles away form our hometown. We decided to stay together, but that November he cheated on me. He knew he made a big mistake, so he didn’t tell me until February. Needless to say, I was hurt and horrified, and we broke up for about 2 months. We are still working through the healing process.
So, muffinman, I would like to say this: Shit happens. Even when you think it is perfect. If shit hppens to you (and it more than likely will) don’t give up hope. My BF and I are closer than ever, even though the road is long and hard and we are not done walking it. I don’t know what the future holds, as I will be going to college myself in a year. My advice to you is that you are too young to start closing doors, and that you should greet the future with an open mind.
