highest level of education completed

A.A. in Business from a community college. What can I say. I hate formal education and am much happier learning on my own.

Your siblings have Masters in Public Administration - not public health. To be more precise about me:

AA in Sociology Fullerton College
BA in Political Sociology UC/Beserkely
MPA in Health Care Administration and Health Care Planning from USC

I’m thinking about an MPH from Johns Hopkins which has an eprogram, but the cost right now is a bit prohibitive $30,000 per year!!!

Currently a soph in college with no declared major yet (mostly b/c they don’t have the one I want). I’ll probably end up with English as a major and psyc and french as minors.

iamphuna, what is the major you want, that your school lacks?

I’m a Master of Science in Economics. Business Economics, mostly. I graduated from Maastricht University in 1997. The level of the education is higher than a “normal” American university, but lower than your average MBA school like Harvard.

So now you know!

I am sure I have earned an AA already (I took lots and lots of classes on a variety of subjects at the local Jr. College.)

I attended Otis Art College in LA ( http://www.otisart.edu ) for several years. We could not afford the graduate program, so I just took all the classes that I needed to be “well-rounded” (drawing, design, painting, more drawing, illustration, production art…etc.) Otis had a continuing ed. program that was more than great - I had wonderful teachers like Jim Morphesis and Burne Hogarth. I ended up with what I thought was a pretty good portfolio (I was leaning towards illustration as my focus) but then I got side-tracked with pottery, and the rest is history. (I am no great sucess in pottery, but have been in several shows/galleries/recieved awards, etc.)

B.S., mathematics, U. of Kentucky

One year, seven months, and 25 days from an M.D.

Dr. J

I’m on my fifth and final year of undergrad.

I did two years at Towson State University, MD, as a double-major in speech pathology & audiology and psychology.

Then I transferred to the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, where speech path would be pointless (dialect differences). I lost a year due to the differences in crediting and had to start at second year again. Now I’m starting my final year of an MA Hons in Psych (which is an undergrad degree here, although a research project and dissertation are required).

Next year I’m hoping to start postgrad work in either consumer psych, marketing, or editing/publishing.

B.Sc. Chemistry (2i), Ph.D. (Organic Chemistry) both from Liverpool University, Post Doc stuff at UIC, now Post Doc at Manchester University. And I’m thinking of changing fields to something totally unrelated.

I’m about to start my first class at the University of Toronto tomorrow. I’m leaning towards life sciences, with semiotics thrown in for fun.

Something told me there’d be another Fighting Geoduck around here somewhere. I was there '83-'90, some of that part time of course.

jjjfishe, i’m one of those. merit scholarship, not quite full ride, but good deal with financial aid. i actually just got kicked out this past Friday. i WAS about to start my third year at Wesleyan university, in connecticut, double majoring in history(intellectual) and russian and east european studies. down the drain. oh well, that’s life.

Well, Marcie was there back in the 70s, in between hippie jaunts to Mexico and Alaska. She finally settled down(?) and graduated, though. She sometimes speaks with fondness of the Fighting Geoducks and their competitive style of football.

I also was a merit scholar, (college sponsored; I think there is a difference) but had my scholarship rescinded after the first year because I had no good study habits and did too much socializing. I went one more year, and then quit for 10 to raise a family.

I did much better the second attempt at college and I hope that you won’t give up.

BA, History. 1994, Sul Ross State University
MS, Geology. 1997, Sul Ross State University
Ph.D., Geology. Pending–2001, Baylor University.

When people ask me how close I am to the Ph.D., I answer: “All I’ve got to do is finish my dissertation!” To which they reply, “really? Is that it?” The good news is, there is light at the end of the tunnel. That, and my wife has told me that I will finish in 2001. Ah, the life of an ABD.

BA (Political Science), Virginia Commonwealth University, 1987

MURP (Masters in Urban and Regional Planning), VCU, 1992

I granulated from Willamina Union High School, class of 1991. Salute!

BA honours Psychology, University of Windsor, Class of '93.

That degree has absolutely nothing to do with what I do now, but I wouldn’t give up the LIFE experience I gained in University, including the introductions to new opinions, experiences, people, and ways of thinking, for anything.

Now, I’m a Network Engineer. I have an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), and CNE (Certified Novell Engineer).

B.S., Environmental Biology, 1996, Auburn University,
M.S., Geography (biogeography), 1998, University of Alabama

4 years of college (University of Maine system)
3 different majors (Business, Liberal Arts, English)
0 degrees. Yay!

If I really put my mind to it, I suppose I would only need two or three semesters worth to get that sheepskin.

What I’d really like to do is find a technical school in the SF area to learn sound engineering. Anyone know of any?
