Scrubs is brilliant!
The first time I saw commercials for it, I thought to myself “How can a medical show be a successful sitcom?” Of course, I grew up with General Hospital and ER to base my initial reaction on.
But I watched. And it was good.
Then I stopped watching. (I stopped watching pretty much everything.)
Then I started watching again, because Friends somehow became interesting again (“What? Rachel is having Ross’s baby???”) and why bother to change the channel afterwards, right? And it was GREAT!
The dialogue is witty and bizarre. The characters are dynamic and lovable. The cast is recognizable (Becky #2 from Roseanne, one of the guys from the Clueless series, the jerk cop from the Rob Schneider flick The Animal, Christa Miller from Drew Carey). I love the animosity between the characters because it is real, and it brings them together in what I would assume to be a stressful work environment.
I laugh outloud when I watch this show.
I urge you all to watch and enjoy before this gem is gone.
