Of that group, I would expect Rubio and Ryan to have the best chances, assuming Ryan doesn’t get any Romney on him. Jindal didn’t exactly cover himself with glory during his 2009 response to Obama’s address to Congress, although hopefully by 2016 that will have been forgotten. The usual questions about the amount of enthusiasm Republicans will be able to muster for an Indian-American named Piyush also apply here. And I’m not yet convinced Christie wants the job, although four years is a very long time in politics.
