I’m pretty sure Merijeek was the one who posted an entire thread looking for people to take that bet. You must’ve missed it.
But this is an interesting assertion, one I’ve never seen you make. Are you that confident that any Republican nominee will (not can, will) beat Obama? Or are you that confident that a particular Republican will be nominated, and that person will (again, will, not can) beat Obama?
Merijeek, you need to get a handle on your behavior. You are not allowed to disclose that another poster is on your ignore list, and you aren’t allowed to make disparaging comments like this outside of the Pit. Do not do this again.
That sounds more like a potential plan for 2016:
a. Obama gets re-elected in 2012
b. Obama runs for VP in 2016, and the Dems win
c. The Supreme Court rules 5-4 that “The 22nd Amendment says that you can’t be elected President more than twice; it says nothing about becoming President through other methods (so Obama can be VP under the 12th Amendment). Since the Amendment seems to go to great pains to use the word ‘elected’, it is not interpreted as ‘you can never be President again after serving two terms.’”
d. Whoever is elected President resigns shortly after taking the Oath of Office - we’re back to President Obama
Of course, this is all fantasy - everybody knows Oprah will be elected President in 2020.
That’s about where I’m at now. I looked at the field. Huntsman is the best of a VERY bad lot for my money. Even as a registered R (or a left behind RiNO). Much as I dislike what the President has (and hasn’t) done for the American people, he’s still the lesser of viable weasels.
Unfortunately, I’m thinking a lot of folks who voted last time may just stay home. I’m also thinking more of those sitting on their hands will be those who believed O would be special, than TP folks that hate Mittens.
I also expect that bile will flow like rivers from the SuperPACs between now and then. Turning MORE folks off altogether.
As my grandpa used to say “That’s a helluva way to run a railroad!”… or a country
Its an easy bet to make as long as you are sure the Merijeek will pay. Right now the bookmakers take $0.43 to win a dollar if Obama wins. You can hedge your bets and win in either event.
