Hillary: Obama's losing support with "hard-working Americans, white Americans"

Or why can’t it just be her mindset that she wants to be President and fuck the Democratic party, fuck building bridges, fuck the rules and fuck everything and everybody but her?

It could be, but that’s not winning any points with me. It’s both authoritarian to the point of dictatorship and indicative of incredible hubris.

That’s pretty much the way I read her. Screw everybody but her. “Crown me, or else!”

So, what, if she thinks that way, it’s not bad? I’d say that’s extreme self-aggrandizement, even for a Presdential candidate. Except for the sacrifice part I think she probably does believe some of that.

This is probably the most important election in the countries history, even if she’s a total moron she’s got Bill fucking Clinton there beside her to guide her- Obama has…Mrs. Obama. If you knew your were a great employee and loved and needed your job and they were about to put someone you knew to be unqualified/incompetent in charge, wouldn’t you fight to get the position?

Maybe pompous on her part, but what if she’s right?

I’ve corrected your Hillary mindreading quote in order to reflect the reality that we’ve come to know during this campaign:

“This country is on a path to ruin and despair (not electing ME). I know that this Obama guy is a smart guy and means well but he’s in my way and he’s a NEGRO and it’s MY TURN. If I have to smear him and throw him under the bus for the good of everyone in the country (in other words, ME), then I’ll do it. If I have to be an evil cunt to get where I need to get that’s a small price for the rest of you to pay and if I have to sacrifice the Democratic Party to get there, well O.K.”

Don’t you just love toughness? Or maybe it’s tough love.

If you don’t like it - tough.

Actually, I think ol’ 'Hill is losing touch with reality and panicking, or actually believing her own deluded rantings;

If the people in my area are any indicator;

My co-workers (3 white, one black a mix of Indepenent and Democrat) are all supporting Obama
I’m (White old-school Repuplican) leaning towards Obama
Mom (White old-school Repuplican) is supporting Obama, and she has never voted Democrat before
Dad is completely disillusioned with the whole political thing and is contemplating NOT voting at all, for the first time in his life (he’s in his late 70’s)
Sis (White old-school Repuplican) is supporting Obama
and her husband is also supporting Obama (not sure of his political leanings though)

If Obama can appeal to this family of hardline Pubbies, Hillary must be more deluded/desperate than she’s letting on

Personally, I LOATHE Hillary, and nothing could make me vote for her, I’d write in Ralph Wiggum before casting a vote for Hillary
her shameful campaign behavior has not endeared her to me in the least, if anything, it’s made me respect her even less (if that’s possible…)

this latest quote of Obama losing support is nothing more than transparent campaign desperation and dirty politics, par for the course with her

Very charitable interpretation. The way I see it, she has about a 1% chance of getting the Democratic nomination, and about a 50% chance of fucking up Obama’s chance at the presidency, thereby throwing the race to the Republicans. Now, she’s smart, she must realize all of this, too. So what would a Democrat who really gave a rat’s ass about the welfare of the country do in this situation?

(Hint: If you answered, “Hang on until the bitter end,” your answer is incorrect.)

Why does she think Obama is so unqualified and incompetent as to warrant party sabotage? Obama could not possibly be that bad or he wouldn’t be able to put two words together. So there’s two possibilities here: she either thinks he’s this bad and is therefore overreacting and straight-up delusional. Not good. Or she doesn’t think he’s that bad, but is simply power hungry. That’s bad, too.

But she’s more than likely not.

Yawn. I heard that four years ago, too, and I expect to hear it in 2012 (unless a Democrat wins; then I’ll hear it in 2016). The words have lost all meaning. Spare me the hysteria.

We’re voting on spouses now? I don’t think Hillary Clinton (or Michelle Obama, for whatever it’s worth) is a moron, I think she has a bunch of bad ideas - and the same goes for the guy she was married to. So he doesn’t help. Further, she’s got some political deficiencies that will make it hard for her to do well.

The way she has, which has consisted mostly of trashing the other guy and playing games with statistics? No. But I have a thing about lying.

I don’t think she is. You sound like the type who’ll worry about this from second to second, but I’m not. Obama has about six months to deal with the fallout from the Wright situation, and he seems to have done pretty well so far. Why are you so panicked about today?

So totally untrue.

How could anyone rationally read her behavior as something else?

I know that the Obama campaign hasn’t wanted to get down in the muck and run that type of race, but if they don’t, and Hillary also somehow manages to secure the nomination the Republicans won’t hesitate to nail her as hard as they can with missteps like this one. In this instance, politics is like baseball. Take a few pitches and wait for the mistake, when that mistake comes, put it over the wall.

If Karl Rove were a Democrat she’d be out of the race by tomorrow morning.

The whole Yes We Can thing is problematic for starters- its disingenious on both ends. When Obama asks his followers a year down the road to suck up the huge tax rate that will probably be needed to retain Social Security, etc., or to give up or put off SS until you’re 75, or to drive every other day, we’ll see how loyal those followers are. We’ll see no one is willing to sacrifice now for the good of the country twenty years from now. Yes we can is all cute and peachy when no one has to give anything up, which is inevitable. HRC knows that bubblegum and sunshine crap isn’t going to work in the current world. She knows she’s a bitch but hey, like Tina Fey said, bitches get shit done.

“Me lose the nomination? That’s unpossible.”- Ralph Wiggum

I don’t know–it seems to me that the “white Americans” tacked on means she’s acknowledging that there are of course many hard-working non-white Americans too, but that among the hard-working white Americans, Obama is not getting much of the vote. Which is true.

Oh bullshit. She’s not good at acting like everyone’s best friend - shot ‘n’ a beer aside - but that doesn’t mean she panders any less than he does. You’re talking about a woman who has been saying "I want to get rid of a gas tax so you can save money, but then I’ll raise taxes on the oil companies because gas prices are too high - and magically, even though profits will go down and demand will increase, I’ll magically stop prices from going back up! And I know economists say my idea is gibberish, but I am Hillary! I have the power to turn market forces on their heads!
“But first, watch me stop the sun in the sky!”

Do you honestly think that’s what she was trying to say? It had to be a slip of the tongue. I really think she meant to say “working class white Americans”, which is almost certainly what the poll she was quoting said.

I know it’s going to be interpreted your way, and she’s going to have to take her lumps like the other candidates do when they “misspeak” (which I think is actually true here). But let’s not go overboard and pretend that she purposely tried to say that only white Americans were hard working.

Surely she has voted or otherwise has public stances on various programs or laws to benefit blacks- does anyone have her record on those? Surely that would clarify the she’s a racist bit.

No. Have I given any indication that I think that?

I haven’t remotely suggested that she purposely tried to say that.

Why is that any better? If Obama declared that Hillary can’t get the working class black vote, I’d be stunned, even if it’s true. Bill Clinton’s Jesse Jackson remark was true too, but still stupid. This shit is like something from The Bell Curve.

Given that her focus seemed to be on the racial breakdown of the primary voters, and ignored any breakdown by class, yes, I do think it was her intention to imply that hard-working=white.

I used to have respect for the Clintons Now, I am disgusted with both of them for the barely-concealed racial insinuations they have made in this campaign.
