No. Have I given any indication that I think that?
I haven’t remotely suggested that she purposely tried to say that.
Yes:
I hadn’t read some of your other posts where you made it clear you thought she misspoke. That post, above, is how you responded to my first post. Taken alone, that more than remotely suggested it wasn’t an accident.

Although we hear that Hillary is beating Ralph Wiggum among working class white posters, so she’s not out of it yet.
Apparently you’re interpreting “stunningly inartful” differently than I intended. Inartful, to me, connotes lack of intent to phrase something a particular way.
Do you honestly think that’s what she was trying to say? It had to be a slip of the tongue. I really think she meant to say “working class white Americans”, which is almost certainly what the poll she was quoting said.

So, according to Hill’s logic, the Democratic party should forsake black voters and diss college educated voters so that she could get the nomination and maybe make a dent in that hard-working, blue collar, uneducated Republican demographic? And, while she’s at it, stir up that nasty hornets nest of identity politics and-- let’s face it-- race baiting?
Yet another reason why she’d make a shitty President-- she’s dumb.
All the posturing and frothy rhetoric can’t change the smell of desperation that clings to her.
People are, largely, not idiots. Damn, we can smell it in Canada!
People are responding to Obama, I believe, because they can sense that he’s the real deal, that’s why it’s inspiring to them.
Authenticity trumps spin every time. People can tell the difference, don’t kid yourselves.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what she’s saying. She’s desperate, and that’s all she’s got. It is embarrassing to listen to an otherwise highly intelligent person spout such nonsense. Power corrupts…
The next question would be, if 'Hill keeps going in the direction she’s insisting on going, how long will it be before she has a full-on, wall-shaking, ear-splitting Grand-Mal-Temper-Tantrum?
I WANNA BE PWESIDENT, WAHHHH, WAHHH, WHY IS EVERYBODY SO MEAN TO MEEEE!, IT’S MY TURN TO BE PWESIDENT, HUBBY SAID I COULD BE PWESIDENT!!!, I’M GONNA HOLD MY BREATH UNTIL YOU ELECT ME!!!
YOU’RE ALL A BUNCH OF MEAN OLD POOPY-HEADS!!!Vote for me!
She believes, like her rabid racist followers (see: hillaryis44), that African Americans will “only vote for their own” and are “hijacking our election process” with their high turnout. Because they aren’t fully fledged legitimate CITIZENS who get to make their own decisions about whom to support for elected office like REGULAR PEOPLE.
Bolding mine.
Okay, whoa on. Not all of Hill’s supporters are racist, and it’s blatantly bullshit to tar them all with that brush. I voted for Obama in the primaries and will hopefully be voting for him for president, but I won’t pretend I came to that decision easily. There are a couple issues (like healthcare) on which I disagree with him and agree with her, and until I did some research on his voting record and his stance on certain positions, I had no idea what he stood for. A lot of people don’t even do that much; they go with who they know.

Hm, Maureen, you’re right. My disgust over this race-baiting and code-talking caused me to overgeneralize. In my defense, that’s why I put up the link to that pink site. The comments on that site are shocking. I know some of her supporters like to claim that we who don’t support her are misogynist, but I’ve honestly not seen any ugly hatred of women on “pro Obama” sites that comes close to the ugly racist shit in the comments on “hillaryis44.” And rather than reject/denounce those in her “base” that spew that toxin, she plays to it and baits for it.
You’re right, also, that some people don’t take the time to educate themselves on the policies of the candidate they support, or the one they reject. There are things about Obama that make me marginally uneasy; as a politician, he may be a panderer by nature.
But, in my opinion, even if I agreed more with her position on a policy issue, I cannot forgive her for things I’ve heard her say with my own ears, in context. She’s not someone I want as my president. And I’m to the point where I can’t really see how a reasonable person could want her. Again, my opinion.
Surely she has voted or otherwise has public stances on various programs or laws to benefit blacks- does anyone have her record on those? Surely that would clarify the she’s a racist bit.
I don’t think Clinton is a racist, but I do think she will exploit racism to either win this nomination or damage Obama’s chances in the general election. Frankly, it is more distasteful to abandon your principles for personal gain. It shows a level of moral bankruptcy that is far worse than actual racism. At least racism can be understood as a learned belief. Clinton is out to destroy Obama by causing a permanent wedge in the Party. The deeper the Party wedge and the longer she can keep Obama distracted and off the presidential election stage against McCain, the better it is for a Republican victory in November. This primary is about what is best for Hillary Clinton not what is best for the Democratic Party or the country.
And to dismiss the black vote is a mistake. Black voters are a loyal constituency that can swing key States red or blue in the fall. It will be more than black voters sitting home if Clinton somehow wins this nomination. She has to know this, so her best bet is to prevent Obama from winning the White House and plan her bid for 2012.

Your numbers show that Hillary has momentum and is more electable than the uppity negro. If she gets two votes, we’ll have to ask why Obama can’t close the deal.
Yeah, she’s gonna eat it hard on this one.
Thing is, I heard it, and all that really struck me was she sounded so tired. I actually felt sorry for her.

Me too. Let’s all pause to think how we’d feel if we were running for the nomination and the voters stole it right out from under us.

Frankly, it’s very surprising that Senator Clinton is doing so well with this demographic. If she can get such a high vote here, she’ll be unbeatable in the real election (unless, of course, Chief Wiggum runs as an independent, and splits the poor working-class vote).

I actually heard a Clinton supporter say this on CNN (they had to do something to fill up hour after hour of air time). I think his exact quote was that the Democrats couldn’t win with just “egg-heads and African Americans.”
However, a look at Bill Clinton’s victories seem to indicate that they can win with egg-heads, African Americans and women. He lost the white male vote both elections.

.. even if she’s a total moron she’s got Bill fucking Clinton there beside her to guide her…
Please say you are fucking kidding me. Bill Clinton would not belong in her Oval Office any more then she belonged in his (jeez, that sounds like a sex joke, except they don’t have sex…
). This is not a team sport, and we don’t elect “power couples.”
If she isn’t right for the job, her husband doesn’t matter. As it is, I’ll bet that any potential “Clinton/Whoever” ticket Dems don’t want to be “Vice Vice President” behind Bill… because if she is elected, that’s exactly what will happen.
