Hinder: Can a real rock band use the word "closure"?

First it was Creed waxing rhapsodic about the baby on the way.

Now it’s Hinder with the heart-felt “Better Than Me”:

And I can’t pretend… I won’t think about you when I’m older
Cause we never really had our closure

Following up on “Lips of an Angel”, this is another poignant hair-band sounding power ballad. Do they really mean it, or are they being self-consciously over the top like an 80s hair band? Or has the power ballad come back around? Other examples of the softer sound of hard-sounding boys these days?
Full (dis)closure: I love bombastic overblown rock so I enjoy these songs, but I am full prepared to admit they are schlock.

I don’t know, but hopefully Hinder’s lead singer is being intentionally over the top with his wild gestures and the ridiculous faces he makes during those two music videos. Hijack over. I just needed that out.

A progressive metal band called Opeth did a song called Closure on their album Damnation.

Hmm…but it contains “Peel myself–dispose of severed skin”.

Omega Glory, not a hijack at all. I never see videos anymore (what, are they on at 3 am or something??) but this information is intriguing.

Amen.

Usually when some band comes out with a sappy BS song for radio, I listen to the album; because, hey- Sometimes you have to sell your soul to get a record deal. At least there are one or two decent songs.

Unfortunately, with Hinder, this is not the case.

I’d feel so much better if it were all a subtle parody.
