Hold on to your wallets, Steam summer sale incoming!

At least you can “accidentally” kill Lydia. You can’t even do that to Serana. Undead bitch.

Got Transformers War for Cybertron. Really fun so far and 100% Michael Bay free!

Doesn’t work as well without the passive aggressive deep sigh each time.

Omerta: City of Gangsters is free at GOG.com for another 2 hours.

No direct link, go to GOG’s front page and scroll down towards the bottom. You’ll have to have an account with them. Game is DRM free (NOT Steam).

Has anyone played Planetary Annihilation yet? It looks like it could be fun or it could suck donkey balls (i.e., be not fun) and enquiring minds want to know.

Anyone played Kentucky Route Zero? I’ve had my eye on it waiting for a sale. Don’t know if 50% off is a good enough discount for that type of game yet.

I swear as God is my witness that I will kill every NPC in Skyrim before I die. Every single one.
I will lay waste to the entire world or I will die trying.
My goal in life is to produce an unpopulated and barren Skyrim world.
Either that or find a girlfriend.

:frowning: ok, now I’m pissed. Metro complete is half what I paid, I didn’t win a free game and they’re offering Blackguards for $14. I really wanted that. I may have to go over budget. Again.

wait for it to come out of early access. unfinished and unoptimized right now.

That is a noble goal. Right up there with beating the main quest by punching everyone, which has been done (not by me).

Borderlands 2: Game of the Year now up to $15.99. Still worth it. Also, if you’re a fan of 1st person sneakers, I enjoyed Metro: Last Light a good deal, but forget about getting some of those long-game achievements like not killing anybody and touching every musical instrument. You are not allowed to have ever replayed a section to get these achievements, on the ‘fuck you we got your money’ principle. Maybe I’m just bitter. Well worth $6.79.

Both Syberia games for $1.49 is not shabby at all. I paid $30 for each installment a decade or so ago. Back then, there was a slight renaisance in adventure games with The Adventure Company. Syberia 1+2 weren’t The Longest Journey or anything, but they were visually lovely in a kind of age-of-steam aesthetic, and challenging enough to feel like you were getting your money’s worth without being frustrating. I do have complaints about the ending, but maybe that will be fixed in the upcoming Syberia 3.

Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition. Not the first time it’s come up for sale, so if you don’t own it already, you probably don’t deserve it. But, if you want to repent… $6.79 = Hell Yes.

Some good stuff so far, a few games I’m interested in haven’t fallen enough in price this sale to get.

Dark Souls 1 and *Kingdoms of Amalur *both for $5, *Lego - The Hobbit *for $7.50 and the Shadowfall DLC for a few bucks have all been good deals.

Anyone played Darksiders 2? Opinions?

The soundtrack alone is worth $1.49, I picked them up too. Just looking at the static art and listening to the score is a nice experience.

Torchlight for free on GOG.com? I already got Torchlight for free on GOG.com! Bastards. Well, imagine how I’d feel if I’d just recently paid $14.99 for it.

I’ve been able to sit out the last few Steam sales, but apparently enough good stuff that I heard about only briefly or not at all has hit my discount threshold… grabbed Rogue Legacy, Blackguards, and the only-lightly-discounted about-to-release Divinity over the last few days. Can’t wait for the weekend, my wife is out of town and it’s game, game, game!

As a result of this and the daily votes, I have a lot of card number ten. Seriously, I have five of those and no more than two of anything else. So if anyone needs a 10, offer me anything but 3 or 4 in trade and it’s done (I’m Kyrios in the SDMB group).

I can tell you one thing, looking at all these game descriptions has made me a little sick of the phrase “like no other”.

I finally picked a few games. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is short and simple, which is probably OK, since I plan on trying to play it with my kids.

Shadowgrounds: Survivor just looked fun.

Same deal with Antisquad. Guess I feel like blowing stuff up.

Shadowgrounds: Survivor reminds me of an old game that I liked, even though I was terrible at that quarter-sucking humiliation festival.

I’m slightly less bad at the new version.

A reminder to hit up GOG greenman gaming and Amazon on occasion too, they like to offer up sales while Steam is doing it’s thing. GOG have been putting up games for free for a few hours every day, for example.

Also, since I still hear about PC gamers without a headset:

Bestbuy is offering a combo of logitech gaming keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, AND headset for $60!

Kentucky Route Zero is part game, part interactive art project. The puzzles and dialog trees often don’t make sense, but somehow you know what you are supposed to do anyway. It seems to create drama out of nothing. It’s slow paced, minimalist, and very short. It’s the definition of a niche game.

That said, it totally blew me away. It’s one of my favorite games of the last few years.

Thanks, it looks cool, beautiful, and surreal: like a David Lynch game if one exsisted. I just have a hard time paying anything over $10 for a short, single-player, p&c adventure. When it falls below $10 I’ll pick it up. Here’s hoping this summer sale will put it on flash for 75% off. If not I’ll wait for winter sale or next year.
