Cleaning house today. Deep cleaning as a friend called to say her friend who is a handyman needs work and since my house needs some work I am thinking about getting him to come out see what he has to say. It’s a bit of a drive for him, so it will probably cost me but he does good work and can be trusted. I really don’t have the money right now, I was planning on getting stuff done in the spring. It’s something to think about.
In the meantime the house could use a good cleaning anyway.
Go get you some appropriate gloves. If Tugig were around he could probably recommend some. They sell some that are supposed to let you operate anything including touch screens. You might also pick up some of those hand warmers and keep them in your pockets. You can tuck your fingers in for a quick warm up.

Snow is still here. Kids got a snow day too. I will be taking the brave explorers out at some point for fun in snow. Not a lot - maybe 4 inches - but it’s pretty and not deep enough to be really inconvenient.
It was brrrrr!!! cold this morning when I left for irk. I should have worn my heavy coat, gloves and scarf. I canceled my PTO for the holidays. I figure that I’ll save it for spring when I can travel. I’ll likely wind up at da niece’s for Xmas day.
I need to take home a couple of boxes from irk this afternoon to mail the stockings to Dad and Sis. There isn’t much in them that I need or should have around the house.
MOOOOOOM considerin’ the neighborhood that house is in, maybe I could interest a crack dealer or a meth maker. It’s the ideal location for both. This is an area that once upon a time was the nice part of town, but no more.

Well, they were out because of a bad wiring job the guy who replaced my internet modem did, then for reasons unknown it was ‘suspended’. I didn’t even have a chance to growl, the folks at the front desk recognized me, got their supervisor involved, and it was cleared up almost as soon as I go home.
And I think I am the only citizen in America who (1) Does not own a cell phone and also (2) does not eat pizza. At least I haven’t met any others…
Now awaiting the service call for my balky water heater. If that can be fixed easily, then all is right with the world…at least until Firday…
Today has been hell. It’s slowing down now, but I’ve still got an hour before I get to go home. My Problematic Co-Worker is on vacation this week, so it’s been otherwise calm and very peaceful. But I am not looking forward to next week when she’s going to spend the first three days bitching about everything she has to catch up on. :rolleyes:
Supposed to get down to the negative twenties tonight. Hopefully my stupid shower pipe won’t freeze, but I’m not optimistic. Luckily, we do have a second shower, but I want to use my shower, dammit. I desperately want to stay home and just snuggle in tonight, but our dance recital is Saturday, so I suppose I should go to class.
I just can’t wait for it to be the weekend. Sure, I’ve got a full day on Saturday and the Kid will be visiting and spreading her noisy chaos through the house, but Sunday I can probably get a good, long nap in.

Not sure what’s happening with my hair. Three weeks ago it started to fall out from the chemo, so I got my hubs to shave my head. Since then, the hair stopped falling out and has been growing thick and fast. WTF? Not complaining, but tell me again why I shaved my darn head???
I’ve thought about shaving my head, but since having the carcinoma removed from my scalp last year, I’ve got a divot on the left side of my skull. I can’t go out all divoted - it’s just not done!
Supper was good and there’s enough rotissed chickie left over for a nice chickie salad plus some chickie soup. I forgot to get bread when I stopped for the chickie - tomorrow’s lunch will be the last of the beef stew instead of a sammich. That works.
And on that note, I’ll turn off the PC, assume the recline position, and fire up the laptop. Not that you can tell the difference - they both type the same! I crack me up!

Mooom, my dad’s a bald guy who has had skin cancer lesions removed from his head on a regular basis. When he’s freshly kojaked, his head looks like a golf ball.
I got a lot done this afternoon. I spent a couple of hours writing the get your poop in a group and give me the information/forms that I need to close out the books on this for EoY emails. It worked.
Tonight I have been tasked to make a graduation card for a weekend guy in our department who will graduate with his masters this Sunday. I wish him much success, but he won’t be working in our department for much longer with his most recent edumacation.

Paperirk done, sto done, online stuffs done, job hunting done, and cornbread sallit & bbq chickie has been made and et. I did have the kitchen somewhat under control, but now it’s all crapped up again. PB has promised to clean it up before he goes to bed. I is a tired muppet.
Well, the plumbing guy came out on time, which was nice. What wasn’t so nice is that he found leaks in the heater and I’ll have to replace it. That’ll be done tomorrow, but the cost is going to put a bit of a crimp in the January budget. Still, hot water for the weekend is good…if expensive.

My hair grows on the side of my head just fine, but not on top. Have been tempted on several occasions just to have the barber take it all and go with the dome look.
