Holy crap! "Land of the Giants" finally on DVD

damn, that’s expensive.

With the release of Monster Squad a few weeks ago, my list of “things I’ve been waiting for on DVD since DVD was invented” was officially down to only two remaining releases. I just found out that it’s now down to one.

“Land of the Giants” is finally out on DVD! I totally loved that show and have been waiting for it. It always struck me as being more like The Prisoner than its Irwin Allen brothers like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and The Time Tunnel, in that it was headier and more existential and slower and weirder. In other words, it was awesome.

The bad part is the price - $199.00, which is just completely insane for a paltry 2-season, 9 DVD set. Come on! There are some cool things included and the packaging is neat, but that’s just indefensible.

Netflix, dude. I may check out the first disk, to see if I still like it as much as I did when I was a kid. No way I’m paying $199 to find out it was pretty meh all along.
