However, its a far better picture than some of the made-up, airbruched to the last breath pictures of Summer Glau… On the Serenity DVD cover, she looks nothing like River AT ALL. Especially when you compare the picture on the DVD spine, well, on my region 2 copy anyway. It looks like two completley different pictures.I always thought river was pretty, in her own way…
Nice from afar, but far from nice.
A few years ago the local satellite provider started broadcasting the drama Higher Ground ( http://www.geocities.com/lghigherground/jewel.html ). I had a total crush on her.
How about this one from the Serenity premiere?
Two points to consider: Joss asked her to put on 15 pounds for the series, so she looked more like a normal woman who had, and enjoyed, the occasional hamburger. She took the weight off between the series and the movie, and it really shows (compare the TV show to the way she looked in the Maidenhead when she was griping at Mal).
For Summer Glau, the recapper at TWOP made the point that in stills, she’s not that impressive; pretty, but nothing spectactular, compared to what Jewel, Morena and Gina have to work with. Once she starts to move, she becomes something entirely different… “a creature of rare grace…”
It would appear that the Grapist beat us to her.
Yowza. The best yet!
