Did it ever occur to you that criticizing people for the number of posts they have made in a relatively short time may not really be the best choice of tactics? You started this thread to brag about how you hijacked a perfectly valid discussion (yeah, I know, you thought it was a hijack) that you couldn’t follow in another thread with a petty complaint that was ignored by the other posters. The OP of that thread never seemed to feel that the discussion of statistics was a hijack. Now you’re mad because we haven’t commiserated with your whine about “pompous fools”.

I did not mean to give the impression that I was at deaths door, I just have a pretty nasty case of the flu. When I said I would probably not be around much longer I was referring to the fact that I will be going back to work soon and not have so much freetime to instigate so much wrath.

I almost feel stupid for asking, but… What’s a sock puppet? Right now I am having an image of A-Team in my mind, where Murdock put a sock over his hand and started to bother B.A. with his “speaking” sock.
However, I don’t think that’s what you meant. Or is it?
Actually, Optihut, that’s a good image. Sock puppets are created by folks (like trolls) who get banned, and return under a new identity. Once detected, they’re banned for being sock puppets.
I believe that the term also extends to people who have one established identity here, who create a second identity (the sock puppet) and post under it as well. Being caught doing that will get both identities banned.
I’m not a mod, so I’d welcome correction if I’ve misstated it.
