Help me out here…
This thread is interesting and all (I certainly admire Askeptic’s persistence if not knowing when discrestion is the better part of valor), but as someone who’se just finished reading How to Win Arguments and having taken a project member’s request for “proof” of something in a logical sense:
Is there still an argument here? Askeptic wants to settle things with a fist fight, can’t match any of his oppoents for wit or coherence (maybe it’s the meds, maybe he got too close to the DU in Desert Storm, &c.) and settles on passive aggressivity and baiting.
Anyway, what I really want to know is: in a well-formed argument, what role to simley faces play?
