So. There’s this huge, major thing we’re doing at work. 4 of us working on it more or less, oh…a LOT since November. It boils down to: we’re building four new schools here right now, which means we need to set attendance boundaries for them, right? After all, someone has to go to them when they open.
So, there’s a lot of number crunching, and scenario-making which we’ve been working with a “citizen’s committee” (and you might think you have an idea how painful that might be well take your imagination and multiply it by infinity) to come to consensus and make some ‘draft recommendations’, which were made public, so that we could hold ‘public forums’.
So those were last Tuesday and Wednesday - on two consecutive nights I sat on a high school stage and listened to people moan about what really was a good workable plan.
BUT, because we’re public servants and we ‘listen’ to people, we went back to the drawing board for most of Friday, and most of today coming up with something that’s not perfect, admittedly better than what we did first, but which we still have to get to the ‘citizens committee’, and THEN have another public forum.
I hate people. If I never look at another map, I’ll be ok with that.
Took Scarlett back to Dr. Laura today. She’ll eat some things, if they have a strong smell (like tuna), but is still hiding out a lot. I came home with some prescription food (which she LOVES - yay!!! )and if she isn’t somewhat more personable (or cat-able? ) tomorrow, they wanna look at her overnight, so I’ll take her back in the afternoon.
Cuervo and Bear need to get their daily routine together. One wants to play when the other wants to sleep. Except at 4 am when they both want to play ON THE BED.
Welcome new folks, one of you want to get up and bring me a beer? Thanks.
