Homeland--New Showtime Series (No Spoilers in OP)

Still enjoying the show, The Saul/Brody/who’s the bad guy thing is interesting. One thing, do we know who tipped off Faisal? That makes me think of Saul.

I was planning to wait for the DVD but I got sucked in. Haven’t seen all the episodes though.

We didn’t see how Saul did on his second lie detector test, did we?

One thing I don’t like is common with procedurals – the person in charge giving everyone explicit instructions, like they don’t know their jobs.

if they were both cheating on the lie dection test, maybe they were using the same methode

I’m enjoying the show too. I can’t figure out the sex thing with Brody/Danes Character. Is she doing it for the cause or just cause she’s horny?

Did you catch the question she made them ask during the polygraph test? I think part of her motivation was just to get close to Brody but that ability to be able to ask him whether he’s been unfaithful to his wife (with her) and see that she couldn’t trust the results of his polygraph for the WIN. I think he’s on to that but if he is turned, he might want to keep her thinking he doesn’t know what she’s up to.

Also still liking this show a lot, but as I mentioned, will be royally pissed off is they play the is he/isn’t he a terrorist card in multiple seasons.
If Brody is the bad guy in season one, but suddenly a super patriot double agent in season two, I think that will be the end for me.

Yeah I’m enjoying it but I don’t really see where this can go as a series. As an 8-10 episode miniseries it could be really good. I wish we had more miniseries…

It could go a second season if Brody turns out to be okay, and he and Claire Danes’ character team up to catch Saul (or whomever is the bad guy). That’d be a bit cliched, but I’d watch. They have some chemistry.

I don’t think she slept with him because she planned to catch him in a lie. I think she was drunk and horny and she’s attracted to him. He’s dangerous and he’s attractive.

Wouldn’t it be career suicide if her superiors knew she slept with him, to get info to catch him up? Jimmy McNulty got in some trouble for that, if I remember right (the Russian hookers).

Showtime had another series called Sleeper Cell a few years ago. It was about a Muslim American FBI agent who went undercover in a terrorist cell in the US. That storyline comprised the first season, and in the second one, he went overseas to infiltrate another cell. So that’s one approach that could work to allow the story to continue.

I thought tonight’s episode was brilliant. I totally did not see the twist coming, which is all I will say in case others haven’t seen it yet.

Yeah, it was amazing.

Did I miss anything at the very end? I had to let the dog out just when Brodie came home.

I have a question about the twist but it would constitute a spoiler. I hate spoiler boxes. Maybe I’ll just wait a day or two, until everyone’s had a chance to see the episode.

Didn’t really miss anything, except the previews of the next episode. I’m thinking this will not be a continuing series with a second season.

Well darn. Is this based on something in the previews?

Like DeweyFinn said, Sleeper Cell did two seasons, and both were pretty good. And Homeland can’t be costing too much to produce.

Another question (too lazy to get out my US map), Saul and what’s-her-name drove to D.C. by way of Tennessee and Indiana?

Homeland has already been renewed for a second season.

So much for my brilliant insight. I jut got the impression that, after the twist, the remaining plot elements could be resolved in fairly short order.

He’s very good in a quirky British comedy called “Assassin in Love”. Give it a watch if you get the chance. (I could swear I saw this movie under another name, which I can’t think of, but this is what IMDB lists as the title).

Pretty sure it was The Baker, Boyo.

That’s it! I don’t know why the other title was at IMDB – it was clearly the same movie.

If you guys are loving this series as much as I am, check out my weekly blog. I review, grade and hopefully add some humor to the show.

It’s certainly been picked up for a second season and, after Sunday’s episode, I can’t wait to see where it goes. The writers certainly have it in them.
