At 1:49pm yesterday afternoon, my husband finally returned to US soil!
After 15 months of military service in Afghanistan, he should be done with his debriefing on Tuesday. Then he’ll be home for good! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
We’re working with our local community to make preparations for a grand homecoming for him and 140 other soldiers in his unit.
I can’t tell you how surreal this all is. I was out of town at a training school all last week and just flew back home today. It doesn’t seem real yet. Too good to be true?
These past 15 months have been the hardest time I’ve ever had in my life. I have to thank a greater power than me for bringing the troops home safely.
Tell him Thank You for his service, and he done good.
I take it now that he’s home, you’ll have a lot more time to spend on the boards, right, because he’ll be helping with the housework and the kidlets and such?
Go enjoy your husband. Congratulations (From ivylass, who used to be a Navy submariner wife.)
He just got his new cell phone and I can actually call him whenever I want!!!
It’s funny how we take stuff like that for granted. Cell phones don’t work in the Middle East so I haven’t been able to just pick up the phone and call him for over a year. Woohoo!
