In this thread, we’ve been talking about a Hoosier Dopefest.
I need to confirm who is in and who is out. The present best date is Friday, November 30 through Saturday, December 01.
Unfortunately, there is a (away) Notre Dame football game that was postponed to the above date. Two of our Dopers, Horowitz and Winkie, seem committed to attending the game. Dragwyr has a performance committment on that date.

I’m pretty new to this whole dope thing but how about a little info on this hoosier dope, i.e. i’m 17, new, am I allowed to go? LOL i know i know, I sound stupid, but I am a hoosier lol

[li]The DopeFest is being held in South Bend & Mishawaka, IN.[/li]{For those not in in-the-know, South Bend & Mishawaka are flush with one-another, and are locally considered as a pair.}
WHEN
[li]We are planning on having a Mini-Dope on Friday, Nov. 30.[/li][li]The actual big DopeFest will be on the next day, Saturday, Dec. 01.[/li] HOW
[li]The main DopeFest is going to take place at a very cool local sports bar-restaurant named (quite appropriately) Between the Buns. {I am really looking forward to using this place. Their food is great, affordable, and they have a full bar.} If, for some unforseen reason, we can’t use Between the Buns, I know plenty of other places we can use.[/li] WHAT
[li]I’m not sure exactly what we will do, but AFAIK, pretty much anything goes! If we get bored with hanging out at Between the Buns, I can help figure out plenty of other stuff for us to do, besides the obvious Doper debauchery that will ensue. Miss Cleo predicts naked Twister, table-dancing, and probably some things that there aren’t even any tarot cards for. :p[/li] HOTELS
There are plenty of hotels in S.B. and Mish. I would recommend a Mishawaka hotel, as that would place you in the epicenter of everything there is around here to see and do.

As it goes Kremit334 and I may not be able to make it. Just so happens that is the weekend before finals and I have a feeling my finals are going to suck big time. Not exactly sure on that though. Once I get word from my profs and see whether or not I’m going to be busy studying my life away I’ll get back to ya and confirm it for sure.

I’d really, really love to go, and I’m free that weekend…but I don’t have a car :(. I’m in Valparaiso (attending the University), so getting to Mishawaka would be a trip and a half. And I don’t mean in the fun kind of way, either.
Dangit, and I really wanted to do this too. Sorry…I could have kept Dryfreeze company away from the bar (being 18 and all).
And it’s looking more and more like a no every time I look at it - I’m awfully shy and I hardly know anyone, and that’s the last weekend of freedom before Evil Christmas Hours begin and I’m working 14 hours a day every day

I’m not able to go, but I just wanted to say how cool it is that you are putting this together. Its rare you hear anything about hoosier dopers on this board. I’m from Terre Haute myself. Good luck and have fun.
All right, here’s my deal:
It seems I will have to hurry home to Indy from the Purdue-Notre Dame (GO BOILERS!) for a wedding reception/party thing for some good friends who are getting married out of state. So I’m out for this one. Someone drink a beer or two for me (but no more than two – I’m quite the cheap date:) )
I am up for helping plan/host an Indianapolis/Central Indiana Dopefest after the holidays … 'cuz I really want to meet you guys!

Unfortunately, one-third have dropped out of the party! We began with a potential of 16 guests. Apparently, college finals are f%#@ing with everyone’s schedules.
I haven’t heard from the rest of the gang yet, so AFAIC, this DopeFest is still on. I will still be thrilled if it turns into a mini-Dope with just a few people. I’ve never met a fellow Doper, IRL.
