Don’t forget the Variety classic on an article describing how rural audiences were not going to see “hillbilly” comedies: STIX NIX HIX PIX.

(Okay, honesty forces me to add that the actual headline was “Sticks Nix Hick Pix” the improved version was from the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy.)

Not horrible–brilliant. As a former headline writer, I stand in awe. Or maybe I sit in mediocrity.
