Oooh. Bread with Nutella baked in.
Can I compromise and say chocolate cinnamon rolls? My chocolate cinnamon rolls. Bread and chocolate. Yum.

I think we’re on to something here. My mom makes a cinnamon roll that is a pie crust rolled up with cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter - I could easily make that with Nutella or chocolate in it. It would be like chocolate cinnamon pie. (Did someone say food porn? )

Bread. For me, bread isn’t just the food, it’s a connection with nearly the whole of human history. Well, western history, then.

I am definitely surprised that almost the universal answer is bread. I don’t do desert often so to me that is special. Bread is a daily exercise. I can make it if I want but it is hardly worth it. Especially considering that it is guaranteed that I will eat many more calories if I do make bread. If I’m gonna do useless calories, it’s gonna be on a mega desert. Once every few weeks, that’s my treat. It ain’t gonna be bread that’s for sure.
OK, guys, you’ve gotten to me. On Friday morning, there will be warm, fresh Irish soda bread made for a few select friends. Come to think of it, maybe I should make a loaf tonight to let the gentleman know he’s appreciated and to make sure there’s enough to go around. If I start now, it should be ready around the time he comes home.

I’m torn - hot, fresh, home-baked bread, right out of the oven and steaming hot, with gobs of real butter, or rich, moist, dark chocolate layer cake with thick chocolate icing? Not that I have either.

Buttered bread, hands down.
Now I’m hungry.
