What kind would it be?
Cake, Candy, Fruit, Melons, Pie or Pudding?

I’m a Cake lover. That’s assuming it’s a very well made cake, moist, flavorful with a creamy frosting.
The kind my grandma made.
They’re hard to find anymore. You have to splurge on the ingredients and make one yourself.
My favorite cake today is a yellow cake with chocolate icing.
2nd favorite is Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing
Cake. Always and forever cake. Delicious, moist cake with minimal frosting.
Cake cake cake… preferably chocolate with vanilla frosting and soft vanilla ice cream…
I guess there was a time that candy was a very special dessert.
But it’s so readily available today. There’s an aisle full of candy at every grocery.
I’ve noticed many restaurants don’t offer cake anymore. Cake will go stale pretty quickly. That’s probably why restaurants don’t offer it.
Apple pie is what I see on most menus.
A melon is a dessert?
Where are cookies? Ice cream?
I forgot the cookies and ice cream.
I tried to think of the most common desserts. But those two slipped my mind. That’s unfortunate because I know they’re popular.

Where’s the ice cream option? Isn’t that, you know, a rather default option for a poll like this?
To quote Albert from Walt Kelly’s Pogo: “Anything close to hand is perty much favorite with me.”
My special desserts are cheesecake and angel food cake but most of the time I like brownies and that was the option I was looking for. I think brownies are a type of cake so that’s what I went for.
I voted for pie, but my forever favorite in the whole, wide world is cookies.
No cookie is safe around me!
(Except Oreos. Yuck.)

Cake. Specifically, a chocolate birthday cake with chocolate buttercream frosting, and mocha buttercream in between the layers.
I’m in the minority and voted pudding. I LOVE warm chocolate pudding (the cooked kind not instant) - especially the skin! I know, there aren’t many of us pudding skin lovers. I shudder when I read a recipe that says to place plastic wrap on top of the cooked pudding!
It’s a dessert I don’t have very often, maybe once a year, because it’s a pain to make. It has to be stirred constantly so it doesn’t burn/scorch. And the other problem is, I will eat the entire bowl!
Cake is ok, but it was something we had all the time when I was growing up so it doesn’t seem like much of a treat to me.
Candy is too readily available. It also has lost its excitement.
Fruit/melons - I love fruit and eat it every day. I don’t consider it a dessert.
Pie is good but not my favorite.
Where are donuts on the list!!?? I LOVE a raised chocolate frosted donut.
You know how sometimes, on a menu or a recipe card, you’ll see something listed called something like “Death by Chocolate”? That’s what I’m ordering.
Creme brulee. Cheesecake. Creme brulee cheesecake!
Serious question: is cheesecake considered cake, or pie? Despite the name, I would consider it to be more like a pie than a cake. Whichever it is, that’s my answer.
My second choice would baklava, but since there is no “pastry” category I guess that would be other.
Cheese. Whatever’s made in the general region of wherever I happen to be dining. With what’s left of the loaf, and what’s left of the wine. Don’t bring me any damn bread with fruit or nuts baked into it, please.
Grand Marnier. That’s fruit, right?
Other: Ice cream
Other: cognac or port or armagnac or a really nice single-malt.
