I have bread flour in the kitchen, and some yeast. I haven’t made bread in a while, but it is a cloudy, gloomy day here, and I think I’ll make my house smell like a bakery to cheer myself up.
Chocolate cake? Meh. I love chocolate, just not in cake form, for some reason.
Bread has always been a favorite, and I rarely can stand to eat chocolate cake. I’ll pick give me bread. Luckily you didn’t make me choose between bread and cheese.
Jamie Oliver does a sort of bread pinwheel, with Nutella (and maybe sliced bananas) spread out on the dough before rolling, a second rising and baking. Nutella baked into the bread - yum.
I am more of a fresh bread person. I especially love a fresh banana nut or pumpkin bread though. I am not a fan of layer cakes as I find most have icing to sweet for me.
I’m fond of cake, but chocolate isn’t my top favorite. I generally prefer vanilla to chocolate in most things. But even if it were my very favorite cake (white cake with lemon filling and buttercream frosting), I’d take fresh hot bread over cake if I had to choose one or the other.
As much as I love hot bread with butter and maybe a little cheese, I’m going to buck the trend and go cake. Gotta love Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I usually eat the largest pieces of cake first and save the frosting for last.
Chocolate cake, cause I can’t make bread; however, I’d take homemade italian bread with lotsa butter anyday. (Had Italian neighbors back home that would bring us a fresh loaf of bread almost every day for no particular reason other than my dad loved to eat their food!)
Well, chocolate cake is good but I’m more likely to make gingerbread (the cake-like one TYVM especially the one from MMP which I just made a couple days ago) or raisin spice cake or my Nana’s cake with chopped fruit (not fruitcake but I forget the exact name). Actually, those and ice cream or black forest cake are about all I like. I’ll eat the other stuff, but only a small piece because I just don’t much like them anymore.
I’ve found that my sweet tooth has dwindled as I’ve gotten older as well. I used to eat sugar straight. I used to buy cans of chocolate frosting with my lunch money in elementary school and eat it with a spoon. I still like sweets and I’m still a big chocoholic, but I find that I can only eat a little bit at a time these days, and then I’m satisfied and don’t want more. I find my cravings lean more toward salty or savory things.
In this case I’d say hot fresh bread with Nutella spread. MMmmmmmMmmmmm
