If Jadzia and Nerys fight to the death, then Tasha would indeed be third.
I’m glad I still had my cup near my mouth when I read this or my keyboard would have orange crush all over it.
Aha. That annoying twerp. Should’ve killed him instead of Tasha. When the episode was being plugged and they were saying that a regular character would die, I was thinking ‘Please let it be Wesley!’
Oh, and since this is the Dope, after all, Fabulous Creature is correct. Consider thus: Suppose you looked at an incredibly fine level of detail, and determined some minute feature that broke the tie between Jadzia and Kira. One of them would then be second, and the other would be third, correct? In which case, Yar would clearly be fourth. Now, in the real world there must always be some level of detail at which the tie will be broken. It may depend on your mood at a particular moment, and it may be such a small detail that for practical purposes, it doesn’t matter. But one way or the other, the tie can be broken. And no matter which way it’s broken, Yar would still be fourth.
Or, if it’s actual usage that you’re concerned about: In the Olympics, when two people tie for the gold, there’s no silver medal, just two gold medals and a bronze. The situation is exactly analogous.
Martia, from The Undiscovered Country is outstanding.
Nope. Wrong. It is not ‘exactly analogous’. Jadzia and Nerys each get one half of second place. Together, they make up one whole second place.
I am going to start a poll about whether anyone actually ever says “first, tied for second, and fourth” in normal usage, because if that is common, I have somehow been halluncinating otherwise my entire life.
s/halluncinating/hallucinating.
The young girl version of Anya the Allasomorph was a hottie.
I second Yeoman (all woman!) Colt.
I still stand by my first post of Andrea (see my post near the front of this thread for a very cool link, pics of her then and now).
Yeoman Mears
Miramanee
And, of course, anyone on the Venus drug.
What, no one for Kai Winn?
I don’t think any Trek female ever surpassed the appeal of Worf’s passionate mate K’Ehleyr (Suzie Plakson).
My votes:
-
Uhura
-
Janice Rand
-
Kassidy Yates
-
tie Zarabeth / Lt. Saavik as played by Kirsie Alley
I’ve been wondering how long it would be before some wise guy voted for Moogie.
If somebody votes for Lumba, I’m leaving to soak my brain in bleach.
Quark in drag. Heh. Good times, man… good times.
My picks:
- Uhura (back in TOS days)
- Jadzia Dax
- Dr. Helen Noel
- Seven of Nine (esp. in the silvery catsuit)
- T’Pol
- Capt. Janeway (only with her hair down)
Damn, no one’s mentioned Vash? Suprising.
And I typed mine before I clicky the linky with the 2y. Do I get to give you an eyeroll?
I respect Picard too much to want to play the gentlemen’s excuse-me with him. Otherwise you could certainly line her up after Seven has submitted to exhaustion. And then that bit out of The Gamesters of Triskelion.
Ah, yes. Vash is right up there.
I remain surprised that Suzie Plakson didn’t become more famous. She had a role on Hearts Afire and I adored her. Recently she played “older flight attendent” in Flight Plan and I thought it was just terrible. She should have been a star!
Wow, make that Love & War (instead of Hearts Afire) and Red Eye (instead of Flight Plan). Sorry!
Still love ya, Suzie!
