What about Chuy’s on Richmond? Good food/munchies, bar, not too loud. I held our Christmas party last year there in the Elvis room. I think it holds about 20 people.

We’ve got two Houston meeting threads going, the other one, started by Grace, is here.
So far nine people have checked in on this thread, and it’s only two days old. I think our May meeting took about 6 or 7 weeks to gel. And, as with our May meeting, we may have to have a twofer to accomodate everyone. That’s fine.
Anyway, I’ll get back tonight and try and sort out who’s interested and time constraints.

beatle - Monday the 10th is not great, but doable - I’ve got a meeting that will run to 7:30 PM or so, so a late dinner or some such might work - not for everybody, I realize. Almost anything else is open - weekday evenings and weekends are open right now - I do have to be at work @ 7:30, with thinking cap firmly affixed.

Purplebear - will be out of pocket from the 12th to the 26th, and I’m guessing only a weekend (probably a Saturday) is really feasible.

Irishman - Okay, Thursday’s best, Monday is okay (if really soon), Tuesday is baddish, Wed is bad, Friday is NO - prior is quoted from the other thread (Irish is a SD IRL trouper - we’ll hear more from him).
Grace - will be here weeknights for the weeks of 7/10 and 7/17 (I’m guessing Friday nights will be transit nights(?))
Mr. Cynical - will only be here 7/10 and 7/11
We have a few other known Houston Dopers that have yet to check in (cooldude, starfish, nasargent?), but working with what we’ve got I’ll say and end of month weekend thing and a sometime sooner weekday evening thing might work. Mr. Cynical’s schedule is tough, as I suspect he might be leaving on the 11th. What part of town are you going to be in, Mr. C?

The days and times are right. The dates are off.
The first week is 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. (How did I mess that one up? That’s my birthday, fer cryin out loud.)
Second week is correct.
The 30th or 31st is what I was hoping for. Everyone check your schedules for that weekend please.

You got my schedule right. I’m only in Houston during the week. I made plans to drive a friend to Austin that weekend otherwise I would stick around for the weekend festivities.
I am, however, determined to meet some of the Houston posters before I leave and I’ll do it even if I have to drive by everyone’s house and pick them up. 
We’ve got two sets of planning happening in this thread.
1st is planning a deal on a weeknight that Grace is here.
2nd is planning an end of the month deal.
Doing both in one thread to streamline the planning process, per beatle’s suggestion.
Though Seale didn’t follow along.
One meeting date is firming up - that’s the 30th for Ayesha and the weekend folks. That works for me, and we have proposed before us Chuy’s. Comments?
The other, weeknight thing, can still draw some of us; we need to focus on dates and places. As I posted in the other thread, Mr. Cynical is only to be seen tomorrow or not at all, this time round. We’ll see what develops tomorrow, but if that is inconvenient for folks, well, we’ve got two weeks to work with to convive with Grace - so, it’ll happen.
Grace, I received your emails. Can you get email while you’re here? And, what part of Houston are you staying in?

I am going to Vegas this weekend, and I have a poker game on Friday the 21st. Otherwise, I’m good with anything until the middle of August.
There are two Chuy’s. I can go to either one. The one on Richmond is bigger, though.
