They seem to be approaching the question of how having House around is going to affect Cuddy’s adoption process. Letting a neurotic, recovering addict around your kid isn’t going to look good during a home visit.
A predictable outcome would be Cuddy dumps House since she thinks he’ll hurt the adoption process. House goes even wacko-ier. Etc. I hope they avoid the predictable.
Is it still on-going? The kid’s almost three, and Cuddy’s had her since just after birth. I was under the impression that the adoption usually only takes about a year to finalize in situations like that.

That’s the beauty of TV! You can just let things drag on and on past any logical span of time, until the audience must be restrained from hurling a full wine glass at the television set.
