Follow Cuddy and company during the course of a day at the clinic.
Wha… she risked her job, and almost got in more trouble, to get ephedrine??
But ephedrine is legal OTC! And it’s not expensive either.
Or is it illegal in New Jersey?
Never mind. Everybody lies. Duh.
Since 2005, if you want to buy ephedrine or pseudoephedrine products, you can only buy small quantities retail and have to register your purchases with the government. it would be really difficult to get enough to run a meth lab that way.
This was a truly excellent episode. Loved the big red flower.
And oh yeah, we got to see a little of House’s skin.
Okay, I must have had a spell. What was the check she tore up all about?
The carpenter who had his $60,000 thumb reconnected dropped off a check to pay 50% of the co-pay. Carpenter dropped the lawsuit and did the right thing. Cuddy found satisfaction in putting him on the “do not collect” list.
Right. Thanks. That was the only story thread that was left to resolve, so that makes sense.
They totally fucked over that carpenter. Cuddy was absolutely in the wrong on that one. He should have sued them into bankruptcy.
Hey, he’s totally free to cut off his thumb again if he doesn’t want it.
They had no right to perform a procedure he specifically said he didn’t want. Full stop. If they think they can decide what’s better for him than he can, then they can fucking well pay for it.
$16,000 they expected the guy to pay. That’s a family wrecking debt for something he told them he didn’t want.
I find Cuddy neither sympathetic nor believable. Even her spectacularly low-cut blouse couldn’t salvage this ep.
While I agree with you in principal, I can later see him hiring the same lawyer to sue them for not re-attaching the thumb when they had the chance, and therefore cost him his chosen career and pain and suffering.
A spectacularly good episode. I loved that you never saw the patient of the week, and Cutty’s point of view opening up things in great ways.
Cuddy and her boyfriend attempt to have sex before she rushes off to work, and apparently he has a…problem.
A few minutes later, Cuddy gets to her office and the nurse tells her that the insurance rep is waiting in her office. Cuddy’s response is, “Of all the mornings to come early.”
Coincidence? I think not.
It wasn’t lost on me that it only took Lucas about seven minutes to do the deed.
Actually, I think it was 2 minutes by the bedside clock.
I thought it especially odd that they showed him on top of her wearing jeans, and then 2 minutes later she was getting out of bed and he was lying there apologizing - with his jeans on. So what happened? Did he jizz in his pants? Or did he pull/zip them up/down, on/off in the 2 minutes?
I loved this episode! House has become a bit formulaic, though I’m always intrigued by the medical mystery, a change like this is good. Plus, I’ve always wondered what Cuddy does all day other than babysit House, the show makes it seem like he’s the only doctor in the hospital.
I never really liked Lucas (seems like a slimeball), but was happy he at least offered to help Cuddy get some dirt on the insurance company CEOs. Watching the medical mystery unfold through Cuddy instead of House gives a good perspective of what she has to deal with all the time. And it’s nice not have to watch Foreteen talk about their relationship.
A couple of these episodes a season, and not boring ones like with Cuddy’s baby, would keep this show pretty fresh. While Chase is about as interesting as a plank of wood, it would be nice to see how he deals with things by himself for a change.
Whatever happened, it happened fast.
It was interesting to see things from her perspective - I thought it made her relationship with House even more complicated. In some ways she and the hospital need him, in other ways he childishly makes her life much more difficult just for fun, but she still ended up going to him for advice. It was a great illustration of how, “Why doesn’t she just fire him?” isn’t as easy as it sounds.
I have to say how much I absolutely loved House’s lines; “I knew she was a sociopath from how she opened her mail.” “You knew she was a sociopath and didn’t tell me?” “I thought it might come in handy some day.” Just perfect.
