House 5/9

I got the same impression, actually. And I don’t remember seeing Foreman in the previews for next week, although I wasn’t paying very close attention to them.

I’m hopeful someone will correct me if I’m mistaken.

By the end of the episode, it seemed clear to me that House had successfully eroded Foreman’s everything-is-beautiful uber-happiness, so there’d be no need to get rid of him.

No, I think Foreman is staying, didn’t you see he was trying to relearn the cards in the hospital office?

House said that as part of his plan to break Foreman’s new outlook.

Since Foreman is not completely cured, it is possible he’ll play a lesser role next week, depending on the case.

I agree with Karl, I highly doubt he fired Foreman.

I like this show, but I am getting really tired of the improbable artistic liberties they are taking.

#1 - Foreman demands another brain tissue sample (last week) and Dr. Cameron performs the operation. Gee, were there no experienced* neurosurgeons * around???

#2 - Both House and Foreman both witness the mother trying to smother her child. Um, last I checked, it’s a CRIME to smother your child! Where were the police? And no, it doesn’t matter if the good doctors suspect that she was mentally ill or even chemically imbalanced. They still would have a legal obligation to get the police involved and let the courts hash out whether she should be charged and/or tried.

#3 - Infant deaths are almost always autopsied to determine cause of death and rule out homocide. Unless Chase was a licensed coroner, he woudn’t be performing the autopsy. Even if he was really, really curious.

Don’t even get me started on the privacy issues that they violate each week, such as snooping through people’s houses, breaking into director’s offices, taking unauthorized tissue samples…

Cameron had the procedure performed, as Foreman’s Dr/spokesperson… I do not believe it has been said or even hinted at that Cameron did the procedure herself.

Big difference between doing a tissue biopsy and a full post autopsy… besides that, they had a cause of death, they needed more details to diagnose the mother.

That’s called drama… and privacy issues are a bit different between police and doctors… yes it is probably ‘illegal’ to B&E the patients home, but it is done in an attempt to diagnose life threatening illness… and just because they don’t show it, doesnt mean that they dont get permission ‘some of the time’.
