"House, M.D." 4/12/05

Do ya think I shoulda broken open the thesaurus?

I’m just wondering when and if one of their patients with a mystery illness is actually going to die. It’s just funny to me that they’re on death’s door for the whole episode and then in the last five minutes they receive a miracle cure and are all better.

(ok, the homeless lady died, I think, but still, y’all know what I mean)

Actually, I think that House considers Wilson a ladies’ man, maybe even a philanderer. It’s been mentioned a couple of times before, about Wilson always having lunch with female colleagues. House was startled when Wilson said “What makes you think I haven’t put the moves on her,” not because he thinks Wilson is too moral to try anything, but because he suspects him of being capable of actually seducing her. Whether he’s worried because he actually has feelings for her, or he’s just being platonically protective, Wilson seemed to think it was the former.

Nope. I like the word as much as you.

As for Wilson’s comment, my kids asked about that. I said it was a guy thing. He’s enjoying pulling House’s chain. Hell, everybody except Cameron enjoys pulling House’s chain. There’s just something about the guy that makes you want–NEED–to jerk him around. That self-satisfied veneer over a bundle of insufficiently-doped insecurities…could YOU resist?

I hope Cameron stays. She is very, very pretty but needs to grow more backbone to survive in the Jungle of Big-Time TV Medicine.

Ah…good take on it. Now that you mention it, I do remember something mentioned about an affair Wilson had. You may very well be right.

House caught Wilson in a lie when he said he was going to a conference, but had long cancelled his appearance.

He also seemed upset when Morrison was sleeping with a pharmaceutical rep.

But Vogler made it seem that Cuddy and House may have had an assignation in the past. (Assignation being my new favorite euphemism).

House has a dual specialty in diagnostics and nephrology.
Cameron’s is immunology.
Chase is an ‘intensivist,’ which I gather means his specialty is intensive care medicine.

No wonder he’s so pissy.
