House of <Insert Food Name Here> (Restaurants)

I was riding on a bus out to the 'burbs today and I passed a restaurant called “House of Dumplings.” It was a Chinese restaurant.

Anyway I got to thinking, what other restaurants are named “House of…” and a single food.

Like “House of Pork,” or “House of Chocolate,” or whatever, I don’t know if those are real I just made them up for example.

For the purposes of this thread I’d also accept things like Vinny’s House of Veal.

So what other REAL LIFE restaurants do you know that follow this naming scheme. (And what kind of restaurant are they, such as Chinese or Italian or general, etc)

International House Of Pancakes, of course. (mmmm, paaaaancaaaaaakes)

House of Beef-BBQ and meat in general.

House of Tykes-

House of Java/Yogurt combo shop divided-coffee and such on one side and yogurt (ice cream parlor) on the other.

Funny I forgot about this one. I guess 'cause I’ve only called it IHOP or heard it called IHOP for decades now.

Waffle House

House of Wang.

Denver has house of Kebab, which for some reason is freakin hilarious.

The company started using the acronym in 1973.

There’s also the Original Pancake House, which (unlike IHOP) actually serves a variety of pancakes.

Also, Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles.

There are probably thousands of “____ House” or “House of ___” restaurants, actually.

There’s the House of Pies and the House of Hunan, both of which are probably self-explanatory.

House of Eggs

House of Tacos

House of Bread

House of Pizza and Fried Chicken

House of Donuts

House of Sausage

House of Beans

House of Roast Beef

House of Matzoh

House of Bacon

There used to be a restaurant in Rochester called House of Poon.

Leno used it in Headlines at least three separate times.

House of Bagels – San Francisco
Kukar’s House of Pizza – San Jose

House of Tricks. And, surprisingly, it doesn’t seem to involve anything illegal.

Every would be hipster in San Francisco is surely familiar with the vastly overrated House of Nanking…

House of Hong

Great place, BTW.

Weird, I was going to post that. Saw this side-by-side combo for the first time just this morning driving through Oakdale, California, on the way up to Yosemite. Joked to my wife that I hoped the latter was a feeder institution into the former.

Same one, I live in Turlock.

There’s one of these in Nashville. Good Persian food.
