How bad would a Trump election be for you personally?

Trump has said that he wants to pull aid from Ukraine. And he has told NATO members that if he doesn’t feel like they are pulling their weight, he will gladly allow Russia to invade:

If Trump is elected, say goodbye to our unipolar world. It won’t even be a bipolar or tripolar world, because it won’t just be China and Russia scrambling for seats at the table; unable to count on us, Europe and our other allies will have to scramble to build up their own armies.

America First policies will create a global power vacuum; and geopolitics abhors a vacuum.

I’ve long assumed that if Trump wins, the GOP will likely also end up controlling the House and Senate. With an ascendant Trump in office, none of the GOP congress members will dare speak against him, or his legislative agenda. If he tells them to cut something, they’ll cut it.

If you read books by Trump’s aides, Trump wanted to pull America out of Korea. Trump has no interest in complicated foreign situations. Trump is envious of despots who have power but seemingly are dismissive about their people. Narcissists do not usually make good leaders.

If the President is immune, to whatever degree, from civil and criminal actions than this also applies to Biden. Maybe it’s like those cheesy movies where someone travels back in time.

Just a small token of his love and appreciation for Kim.

Seriously - I was half joking about New Zealand becoming a Chinese client state - but if Trump pulls out of Korea, that really does signal to China that the Pacific is theirs for the taking, so maybe it isn’t actually so outlandish.

I said the above yesterday. Then I found this just now:

Former President Donald J. Trump over the weekend escalated his vows to prosecute his political opponents, circulating posts on his social media website invoking “televised military tribunals” and calling for the jailing of President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senators Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer and former Vice President Mike Pence, among other high-profile politicians.

Mr. Trump, using his account on Truth Social on Sunday, promoted two posts from other users of the site that called for the jailing of his perceived political enemies.

One post that he circulated on Sunday singled out Liz Cheney, the former Wyoming congresswoman who is a Republican critic of Mr. Trump’s, and called for her to be prosecuted by a type of military court reserved for enemy combatants and war criminals.

Then there is this:

Research has found that mass shooters don’t just snap.

They spend time thinking about violence and they plan, prepare, and often share indicators before their attacks. This means there are opportunities to identify someone who is on a pathway to violence - and prevent their attack.

Studies have also proven that before most mass attacks, someone observed concerning behaviors that were signs the person was on a path to violence. The people who noticed were often friends, family, schoolmates, coworkers, or loved ones.

Who is to say Trump doesn’t foreshadow his extreme views before he acts?

Sigh. The question in the OP is how a Trump presidency will affect me personally. Everything that doesn’t affect me is superficial in this context. Why the fuck do people not respect the parameters of the question that’s posed?

Start your own thread wherein I can respond in a different context.

Sheesh.

I get your point, but I don’t think “superficial” is the right word for what you mean – off-topic or non-applicable. I read it as “Their concerns are frivolous.”
