If anyone is violating rules in those threads it’s a hijacking bitch who can’t be bothered to give a newbie the benefit of the doubt or some constructive criticism. Could you have at least tried to address some of his points?
Better to link to the whole thread with a post # for reference. Linking to a stand-alone post doesn’t allow people to see the context or flow of the conversation, or let them determine if the post matches your description.

Is that better? It was one of the threads linked in the OP so I figured that people weighing in would have at least scanned them and been familiar with the general flow of things. I assumed that any dipshit could figure out how to see the whole thread from a linked post if they needed to do so.
Care to actually address my point? We’re supposed to fight ignorance here. We had an opportunity, an obligation actually, to at least try to educate this guy. Instead, in a GD thread, we got amongst a couple of good replies, a bunch of bitchy mocking. How is ganging up on him going to help him learn. Give the new guy a chance at least.

If you’re worried about the rules, report the post. I don’t think it crosses any GD line. I wouldn’t consider it even close. But that’s not my call.

Why have different forums at all then? C’mon. Eve wasn’t trying to gain new knowledge in the OP. She was Pitting someone. I disagreed with the Pitting.
Let’s, just for fun, actually address the OP and my disagreement with it, if you are so inclined. I think that it is premature to call this guy a troll. He has only posted seven times and started two OPs. If he were spamming or posting a huge amount of posts, I would have agreed. If he posted something like that but with more venom in the Pit, I would have agreed.
He was acused of “hit and run” tactics which turned out not to be true. He did come back to one of the two threads.
He does, indeed, present some weak theological arguments but he could be young and poorly informed. This is a good opportunity to try and teach him something until he proves himself to be unable or unwilling to learn.
He is new and should be given the benefit of the doubt. If you posted a GD and were mocked by me or Eve, you would at least know the players and could say, “Oh that’s just hajario/Eve, he/she is just being a dickhead/cutie.” Guests should be treated differently at first.
I did report the post just for the hell of it but I am less concerned about it breaking the rules than it just being my opinion that that was the incorrect approach towards this guy.

While I disagree that this particular poster shows any signs of being worth worrying about, if you had said the above initially I wouldn’t have thought anything of it.

It is the pit, of course, so I’m not saying you can’t be as insulting as you want. But since it seemed you were calling for fighting ignorance through kindness, it struck me as funny.
